Which companies sponsor visas for cloud solutions architects in Minnesota?
The most active sponsors for cloud solutions architect roles in Minnesota include UnitedHealth Group, Target Corporation, Best Buy, Optum, and Mayo Clinic. Consulting firms such as Accenture and Deloitte, which maintain Minneapolis delivery centers, also file H-1B visa petitions for cloud architects regularly. Financial services companies like U.S. Bancorp have also historically sponsored cloud and infrastructure roles requiring specialty occupation qualifications.
Which visa types are most common for cloud solutions architect roles in Minnesota?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for cloud solutions architects in Minnesota, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field. L-1A and L-1B visas are also used when candidates transfer from a foreign affiliate of a Minnesota employer. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may qualify for the TN visa under the NAFTA successor agreement, provided the role meets TN criteria.
How to find cloud solutions architect visa sponsorship jobs in Minnesota?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find cloud solutions architect visa sponsorship jobs in Minnesota, as the platform filters specifically for employers willing to sponsor work visas. You can narrow results to Minnesota and target sectors like healthcare IT, retail technology, and financial services, which are the strongest hiring verticals in the Twin Cities. Filtering by role title ensures you see architect-level positions rather than general cloud engineering listings.
Which cities in Minnesota have the most cloud solutions architect sponsorship jobs?
Minneapolis and its neighboring city Saint Paul account for the overwhelming majority of cloud solutions architect sponsorship opportunities in Minnesota. Bloomington hosts several large corporate headquarters and regional offices that file H-1B petitions in this space. Rochester is a secondary market worth monitoring due to Mayo Clinic's ongoing investment in cloud infrastructure and health data platforms, which generates architect-level hiring distinct from the Twin Cities tech cluster.
Are there any Minnesota-specific considerations for cloud solutions architect visa sponsorship?
Minnesota's Department of Employment and Economic Development reports consistently strong demand for cloud infrastructure talent, which influences prevailing wage levels that employers must meet when filing Labor Condition Applications for H-1B positions. The University of Minnesota and private institutions like Macalester feed local tech pipelines, but many Minnesota employers also recruit internationally, particularly for senior architect roles. Healthcare and retail technology, two of Minnesota's dominant industries, tend to require architects with sector-specific platform experience alongside general cloud credentials.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored cloud solutions architect jobs in Minnesota?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
