Which retail companies sponsor H-1B1 Singapore visas in North Carolina?
North Carolina-based retail and consumer goods employers that have filed Labor Condition Applications for Singapore nationals include companies operating in Charlotte's South End retail corridor, Research Triangle Park-adjacent e-commerce firms, and national chains with regional headquarters in the state. Lowe's Companies, headquartered in Mooresville, and Food Lion, based in Salisbury, are among the larger retail employers with established visa sponsorship programs for specialty roles.
Which cities in North Carolina have the most retail H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship jobs?
Charlotte leads North Carolina for retail H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship activity, driven by its concentration of corporate retail headquarters and regional distribution centers. Raleigh and Durham follow closely, particularly for retail technology and analytics roles tied to the Research Triangle's tech corridor. Greensboro and Winston-Salem also see sponsorship activity from regional apparel and consumer goods companies with long-standing operations in the Piedmont Triad.
What types of retail roles typically qualify for H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship?
H-1B1 visa sponsorship in retail requires a specialty occupation, meaning the role must normally require at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. Qualifying retail positions commonly include merchandise planning analysts, retail data scientists, supply chain technology managers, e-commerce product managers, and financial analysts within retail operations. General sales associate or store manager roles that do not require a specific degree field typically do not meet the specialty occupation standard under USCIS guidelines.
How do I find retail H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship jobs in North Carolina?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search, letting Singapore nationals filter verified H-1B1 sponsorship jobs by state and industry, including retail positions across North Carolina. The platform surfaces employers with confirmed LCA filing history so you can focus on companies already familiar with the H-1B1 Singapore category, rather than approaching employers who may not know the visa exists. Filtering by North Carolina and the retail industry on Migrate Mate is the most direct starting point.
Are there any North Carolina-specific considerations for retail H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship?
North Carolina does not impose additional state-level visa requirements beyond federal H-1B1 standards, but retail employers in the state must comply with North Carolina Department of Labor wage rules alongside DOL prevailing wage obligations. The prevailing wage for a specific retail role and location can be checked using the OFLC Wage Search tool. Employers in smaller North Carolina markets like Wilmington or Asheville may have less experience with H-1B1 Singapore filings than Charlotte or Raleigh-based counterparts, so confirming an employer's prior sponsorship history is worthwhile.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B1 Singapore retail jobs in North Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
