Which retail companies in Oregon are known to sponsor H-1B1 Singapore visas?
Oregon's retail sector includes several employers with documented histories of sponsoring specialty occupation visas. Nike's global headquarters in Beaverton, Columbia Sportswear in Portland, and Adidas North America have all sponsored workers in retail-adjacent roles. Larger national retailers with Oregon distribution or corporate offices, such as REI and Nordstrom, also appear in DOL Labor Condition Application filings for specialty occupation positions.
Which cities in Oregon have the most retail H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship jobs?
Portland and its metro suburbs, particularly Beaverton and Hillsboro, account for the large majority of Oregon retail sponsorship activity. Beaverton alone hosts Nike's world headquarters, which generates consistent sponsorship filings in merchandising, planning, and retail strategy roles. Salem and Eugene have smaller retail hiring footprints but occasionally have openings at regional corporate offices or specialty retailers with multi-state operations.
What types of retail roles typically qualify for H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship in Oregon?
The H-1B1 visa requires a specialty occupation, meaning the role must normally require at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. In retail, qualifying positions typically include merchandise planning analyst, retail data analyst, buying and sourcing coordinator, supply chain strategist, and marketing manager. General sales associate or store management roles rarely meet the specialty occupation standard unless the employer can document a degree requirement tied to the specific position.
How do I find retail H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by visa type, including H-1B1 Singapore, and narrow results to Oregon retail employers that have active or historical Labor Condition Application filings with the DOL. This means the employers shown have a documented record of sponsoring specialty occupation workers, not just self-reported openness to sponsorship. Searching this way saves significant time compared to manually reviewing individual company career pages.
Are there any Oregon-specific considerations for H-1B1 Singapore retail sponsorship?
Oregon has no state income tax, which affects compensation structuring but does not change federal H-1B1 visa prevailing wage requirements. Employers must still meet the DOL prevailing wage for the specific occupation and location, which you can verify using the OFLC Wage Search tool. Oregon's retail employment laws, including predictive scheduling requirements in Portland, apply equally to H-1B1 visa workers, and employers are responsible for compliance regardless of the worker's visa status.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B1 Singapore retail jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
