INTRODUCTION
Who We Are
We are the first publicly-traded biotech or pharmaceutical company to take the form of a public benefit corporation. Our public benefit purpose is to provide a brighter future for patients through the development of novel pharmaceutical therapies; and technologies that expand the availability of transplantable organs.
United Therapeutics (Nasdaq: UTHR) seeks to travel down the corridors of indifference to develop treatments for rare, deadly diseases. We were founded in 1996 by a family seeking a cure for their daughter’s pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). Today, we have six FDA-approved therapies that treat PAH, pulmonary hypertension associated with interstitial lung disease (PH-ILD) and neuroblastoma, a rare pediatric cancer. Our near-term pipeline seeks to develop additional therapies for PAH and pulmonary fibrosis (PF).
The cure for end-stage life-threatening diseases like PAH, PH-ILD, PF, and many others is an organ transplant, but only a small percentage of donated organs are available to address the vast need. For this reason, we are working to create manufactured organs to address the shortage of kidneys, hearts, lungs, and livers available for transplant. We believe an unlimited supply of tolerable, transplantable organs will eliminate the transplant waiting list and cure end-stage organ diseases for which transplant is not currently an option.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Who you are
This is where strategy meets purpose. United Therapeutics is preparing to launch a highly anticipated therapy in PAH – and we’re looking for a Senior Product Manager who wants to be part of it.
You will play a central role in this launch: contributing to strategy, building core assets, and partnering with a driven cross-functional team to bring something meaningfully new to patients and the providers who care for them. You’ll own healthcare professional (HCP) launch initiatives end-to-end, and turn insights into impactful marketing that reaches the right audience in the right way. It’s a role for someone who thrives in the energy of a launch, enjoys both big-picture thinking and hands-on execution, and wants their work to contribute to something bigger than the brand itself. If you’re motivated by solving meaningful challenges and ready to grow in a mission-driven environment, you’ll feel right at home here.
The Sr Product Manager contributes to developing the HCP strategy, proposing and developing tactical marketing initiatives to achieve the brand goals.
- Work independently to manage marketing tactic for assigned product.
- Lead tactical efforts through conception, development, review, production, and dissemination. Work collaboratively with agency and internal partners to deliver assigned tactics.
- Assist with development of annual marketing plans (brand strategy, positioning, messaging, tactics) under direction of brand lead and particularly as it relates to annual HCP tactical plans.
- Assist in the determination and tracking of key performance indicators (KPI) for owned tactics and initiatives.
- Manage the HCP agency of record as well as individual project budgets and timelines.
- Assist with market research initiatives (quant, qual, advisory boards) to learn insights for the brand and apply those insights to actionable HCP strategies and tactics.
- In partnership with brand lead, assist in managing promotional review board discussions (PRB) and negotiating solutions to gain exposure to the PRB process and best practices.
- Develop foundational core launch assets (core visual aid, core speaker deck, etc.) and partner with sales training and sales leadership to ensure optimal rollout and execution of HCP strategy.
- Partner with marketing team members who are responsible for field-based and digital HCP promotional tactics to ensure strategic alignment and execution.
- Attend field ride-alongs in order to understand the audience and resource utilization.
- Partner with key UT stakeholders to engage and collaborate with key professional societies and KOLs.
- Demonstrate command of disease state, product portfolio, competitors, and payer landscape.
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to ensure consistent alignment on all projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device marketing with a PharmD Degree or 6+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device marketing with a Master's Degree or 8+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device marketing with a Bachelor's Degree.
- Self-motivated, willing to work independently and prioritize tasks.
- Excels in a fast-paced environment and possesses strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
- Develops collaborative relationships with internal and external partners.
- Seeks to lead initiatives.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, Teams, Word).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s Degree in a related field.
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).
- 2+ years of experience in product launches in pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device sales.

Which companies sponsor visas for product leads in North Carolina?
Several large employers in North Carolina have established H-1B and L-1 sponsorship histories for product roles. In the Research Triangle, Red Hat, Cisco, Lenovo, and SAS Institute have filed for product-related positions. In Charlotte, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and LendingTree have sponsored product leads in their technology and digital divisions. Enterprise tech and fintech employers account for the majority of sponsorships in this state.
Which visa types are most common for product lead roles in North Carolina?
The H-1B is the most common visa for product leads in North Carolina, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as computer science, engineering, or business. Candidates transferring within multinational companies may qualify for an L-1B for specialized knowledge. Senior or distinguished product leaders with documented achievements may explore the O-1A, though eligibility requirements are demanding.
Which cities in North Carolina have the most product lead sponsorship jobs?
The Research Triangle area, covering Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill, is by far the most active region for product lead roles with visa sponsorship in North Carolina. The concentration of tech companies, startups, and university-linked employers in that corridor drives most hiring. Charlotte is the second major hub, particularly for product leads in financial services and fintech. Smaller clusters exist in Cary and Morrisville, home to several large tech campuses.
How to find product lead visa sponsorship jobs in North Carolina?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to search for product lead roles in North Carolina without sorting through positions that don't support international candidates. You can narrow results by location to focus on the Research Triangle or Charlotte. Because product lead is a senior role, filtering by company size and industry helps surface employers with established sponsorship programs rather than startups with no prior H-1B history.
Are there state-specific factors that affect product lead sponsorship in North Carolina?
North Carolina's Research Triangle benefits from proximity to Duke University, UNC Chapel Hill, and NC State, which generate a steady pipeline of technical talent and attract employers accustomed to hiring internationally. The state has no specific immigration-related employer tax or surcharge beyond federal requirements. Prevailing wage determinations for product lead roles follow the Department of Labor's Standard Occupational Classification system, so employers must meet federally set wage floors regardless of local cost of living.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product lead jobs in North Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
