DESCRIPTION AND REQUIREMENTS
ABOUT OUR TEAM
The AI Monetization Strategy Manager is the owner of monetization strategy and capability foundations for Lenovo’s AI ecosystem team. This role translates AI capabilities and user experiences into scalable, compliant, and durable revenue models, ensuring monetization is designed end to end—from concept through launch and lifecycle optimization.
The role also leads the definition of monetization foundations (pricing models, packaging, platform requirements, partner economics) and drives cross functional execution to ensure Lenovo AI investments result in measurable business impact.
1. Monetization Strategy & Revenue Model Design
- Define and own the AI monetization strategy across subscriptions, usage-based pricing, Token, marketplace revenue share, advertising, preload, and partner-led monetization models.
- Identify, validate, and prioritize GenAI-specific revenue models aligned with user value, product capabilities, and market positioning.
- Develop multi-year financial models, revenue forecasts, and funnel assumptions (Eligible Activation MAU Revenue).
- Ensure global scalability while accommodating regional pricing, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
2. Monetization Foundations & Platform Readiness
- Define core monetization foundations, including pricing architecture, packaging guardrails, entitlement logic, and revenue recognition alignment.
- Translate business models into payment and platform requirements, partnering with Lenovo eComm, subscriptions, and billing platforms to ensure the readiness and reporting integrity.
- Drive evaluation and recommendation of subscription and payment platforms where needed.
3. Ecosystem & Partner Monetization
- Design and govern partner monetization models (rev-share, bundles, preload, marketplace listings) across infrastructure, silicon, AI model, and service partners.
- Collaborate with partners to ensure monetization terms support adoption, differentiation, and long-term economics.
- Establish standardized partner onboarding, economics, and performance metrics.
4. Cross-Functional Execution & GTM Enablement
- Act as the central coordination point across Product, Engineering, eServices, eComm, Legal, Finance, and regional teams to ensure launch readiness.
- Define monetization-related GTM inputs, including packaging, pricing guidance, enablement materials, and rollout sequencing.
- Enable rapid experimentation while maintaining governance over pricing, discounts, and partner economics.
5. Leadership, Governance & Metrics
- Lead and develop a small, high-impact monetization team across strategy, platform enablement, and partnerships.
- Establish clear success metrics and dashboards for monetization performance and lifecycle optimization.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to AI ecosystem leadership on monetization tradeoffs, investments, and prioritization.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 12+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, product commercialization, or monetization roles, preferably in AI, PCs, cloud, or consumer electronics.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience driving monetization for device-based platforms, digital services, or software ecosystems.
- Strong commercial, financial, and negotiation skills with experience closing complex, high-value deals.
- Ability to operate effectively in a matrixed, global organization with multiple stakeholders.
- Familiarity with AI PCs, edge AI, cloud-to-device experiences, and subscription or usage-based business models.
- Experience working with ISVs, OEMs, or platform partners with AI focus is a strong advantage.
The base salary budgeted range for this position is $185K - $205K. Individuals may also be considered for bonus and/or commission.

Search Strategy Manager Jobs in North CarolinaStrategy Manager Jobs in North Carolina: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies in North Carolina sponsor visas for strategy managers?
Charlotte-based financial institutions like Bank of America and Wells Fargo regularly sponsor strategy managers, as do Research Triangle tech companies including Red Hat, Lenovo, and Cisco. Healthcare organizations like Duke University Health System and UNC Health also hire sponsored strategy professionals. Sponsorship patterns vary by company size and hiring cycle, so confirming active sponsorship before applying is worth doing.
Which visa types are most common for strategy manager roles in North Carolina?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for strategy managers in North Carolina, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in business, strategy, economics, or a related field. Candidates already in the U.S. on OPT or STEM OPT also fill these roles. Executives transferring within multinationals may qualify for the L-1A. The E-3 visa applies exclusively to Australian citizens.
Which cities in North Carolina have the most strategy manager sponsorship jobs?
Charlotte leads due to its concentration of financial services, consulting firms, and corporate headquarters. The Research Triangle area, covering Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill, follows closely with strong demand from tech, biotech, and university-affiliated employers. Greensboro and Winston-Salem have a smaller but active presence through manufacturing and healthcare organizations. Most sponsored strategy manager positions are concentrated in these metro areas rather than smaller cities.
How to find strategy manager visa sponsorship jobs in North Carolina?
Migrate Mate filters strategy manager roles specifically by visa sponsorship, so you can browse North Carolina opportunities without sorting through employers who don't sponsor. The platform surfaces roles from companies in Charlotte's financial sector, the Research Triangle's tech and life sciences firms, and healthcare organizations statewide. Searching by role and state on Migrate Mate saves significant time compared to manually vetting each employer's sponsorship history.
Are there state-specific considerations for strategy managers seeking sponsorship in North Carolina?
North Carolina's Research Triangle benefits from a strong university pipeline through Duke, UNC Chapel Hill, and NC State, which means employers in that corridor are accustomed to hiring internationally credentialed candidates. The state's mix of financial services in Charlotte and life sciences in the Triangle means strategy manager roles often require sector-specific experience. H-1B prevailing wage requirements apply based on the specific metro area, so Charlotte and Raleigh-Durham roles may reflect different wage benchmarks.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored strategy manager jobs in North Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
