Which companies in Michigan sponsor visas for strategy managers?
General Motors, Ford Motor Company, Stellantis, and Rocket Companies are among the Michigan employers with established H-1B visa sponsorship histories for business strategy and corporate planning roles. Large health systems including Henry Ford Health and Beaumont Health also sponsor for strategy positions. These organizations have dedicated immigration support infrastructure and regularly file Labor Condition Applications for senior business roles.
Which visa types are most common for strategy manager roles in Michigan?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for strategy managers in Michigan, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in business, economics, or a related field. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may qualify for TN visa status under the USMCA. Those with extraordinary achievements in strategy or management consulting may explore the O-1A, though the evidentiary bar is high.
How to find strategy manager visa sponsorship jobs in Michigan?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse strategy manager openings in Michigan without sorting through roles that don't offer sponsorship. You can narrow results by location, filtering for Detroit, Ann Arbor, or Grand Rapids depending on your target industry. This saves significant time compared to screening hundreds of general postings for sponsorship eligibility.
Which cities in Michigan have the most strategy manager sponsorship jobs?
Detroit and its suburbs, including Dearborn, Troy, and Auburn Hills, account for the majority of strategy manager sponsorship activity given the density of automotive headquarters and Tier 1 suppliers there. Ann Arbor draws demand from the University of Michigan health system, tech-adjacent firms, and mobility startups. Grand Rapids has a smaller but growing market tied to manufacturing, healthcare, and regional corporate offices.
Are there any Michigan-specific considerations for strategy manager visa sponsorship?
Michigan's automotive concentration means many strategy manager roles involve operations planning, supply chain strategy, or product lifecycle management, which can influence how employers classify the position for H-1B specialty occupation purposes. The Department of Labor's prevailing wage requirements apply based on the worksite location, so wages in Detroit's suburban corridors may differ from Ann Arbor. Michigan's strong engineering and business graduate pipelines at University of Michigan and Michigan State also create employer familiarity with international candidate sponsorship.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored strategy manager jobs in Michigan?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
