The Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business at Clemson University invites applications for a full-time Lecturer position in the Department of Management, beginning Fall 2027. The role is a 9-month, non-tenure-track position with a 4/4 teaching load.
The lecturer will teach courses at the bachelor’s and master’s levels, with a primary emphasis on strategic management and the ability to teach leadership skills for managers and other management courses as departmental needs arise. The successful candidate will bring demonstrated interest and expertise in strategic management, strong teaching experience, and an ability to create engaging, applied learning experiences that connect management concepts to real-world challenges. Additional teaching capabilities, particularly in areas such as venture funding and formation, would be welcomed as opportunities arise but are not required.
About the Department
The Department of Management is a comprehensive academic unit within the The Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business, with over 45 full-time tenured, tenure-track, and instructional faculty. The expertise and research interests of the group span and regularly integrate the areas of entrepreneurship, innovation, strategy, organizational behavior, international business, business ethics, human resource management, supply chain management, operations management, management information systems, and data analytics.
The Department offers an undergraduate degree, a Master of Science degree in Sports Business and Analytics, and an Executive Ph.D. in Executive Leadership. Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Management, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a closely related field (required).
- Substantial professional (real-world) experience strongly preferred, particularly where it can enrich teaching and student learning.
- Demonstrated excellence or strong potential in teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
- Demonstrated interest and experience in strategic management, along with the ability and willingness to teach leadership skills for managers and other courses as needed.
- Ability to incorporate applied, experiential, and industry-relevant learning activities into the classroom.
- Experience teaching at a major research university is preferred.
- Additional expertise or teaching experience in areas such as venture funding.
