Which companies sponsor visas for support leads in North Carolina?
Enterprise technology and financial services employers are among the most active sponsors for support lead roles in North Carolina. Red Hat in Raleigh, Fidelity Investments and Bank of America in Charlotte, and SAS Institute in Cary have established sponsorship track records. Large healthcare systems like Duke Health and UNC Health also hire support leads and have sponsored work visas for qualified international candidates.
Which visa types are most common for support lead roles in North Carolina?
The H-1B is the most common visa for support lead roles where the position requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as computer science, information systems, or business. Some employers also use the L-1B for internal transfers from overseas offices. Candidates already on OPT or STEM OPT can begin working while their employer initiates H-1B sponsorship through the annual lottery.
Which cities in North Carolina have the most support lead sponsorship jobs?
The Research Triangle area, covering Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill, has the highest concentration of support lead sponsorship opportunities, driven by enterprise software firms, biotech companies, and university-affiliated employers. Charlotte is the second-strongest market, anchored by its large financial services and fintech sector. Smaller but active markets include Cary, where SAS Institute is headquartered, and Morrisville, home to several technology company offices.
How to find support lead visa sponsorship jobs in North Carolina?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse support lead roles in North Carolina without sorting through positions that do not offer sponsorship. You can filter by state and role to see which employers are actively hiring and sponsoring. This is particularly useful for support lead candidates in the Research Triangle and Charlotte, where sponsorship activity is concentrated across technology and financial services employers.
Are there any state-specific considerations for support lead visa sponsorship in North Carolina?
North Carolina's strong university system, including NC State, UNC Chapel Hill, and Duke, produces a pipeline of international students who often pursue support lead roles locally after graduation, increasing competition for sponsored positions. Employers filing H-1B petitions must pay the Department of Labor's prevailing wage for the specific role and county, which varies between the Triangle and Charlotte metro areas. North Carolina does not impose additional state-level requirements on top of federal visa sponsorship obligations.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored support lead jobs in North Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
