Which companies sponsor visas for support leads in Ohio?
Ohio employers with documented H-1B sponsorship history for support and technical leadership roles include Nationwide Insurance, Progressive, JPMorgan Chase, Huntington Bancshares, and large healthcare systems like Cleveland Clinic and OhioHealth. Technology companies with Columbus or Cleveland offices, including IBM and NCR, have also sponsored support lead positions. Sponsorship activity tends to be strongest at enterprise-scale employers with established HR and immigration infrastructure.
Which visa types are most common for support lead roles in Ohio?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for support lead roles in Ohio, particularly where the position requires a bachelor's degree in a technical or business-related field. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for TN status if the role maps to an eligible occupational category. Candidates with extraordinary ability in technical support leadership may also explore the O-1A, though that standard is considerably higher and less common for this role type.
Which cities in Ohio have the most support lead sponsorship jobs?
Columbus is the leading city for support lead sponsorship jobs in Ohio, driven by its concentration of insurance companies, financial services firms, and a growing tech sector. Cleveland follows closely, with demand coming from healthcare IT, manufacturing technology, and financial institutions. Cincinnati rounds out the top three, supported by consumer goods companies and regional banks that maintain support operations requiring experienced team leads.
How to find support lead visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship, making it one of the most direct ways to browse support lead roles in Ohio filtered by sponsorship availability. Rather than sifting through general job listings where sponsorship status is unclear, Migrate Mate surfaces employers in Ohio who are actively open to sponsoring, saving significant time for candidates navigating H-1B or TN pathways for support lead positions.
What state-specific factors should support lead candidates in Ohio know?
Ohio's prevailing wage determinations for support lead roles are set by the Department of Labor and vary by metropolitan area, with Columbus and Cleveland commanding higher wage levels than smaller Ohio metros. Candidates should be aware that the specialty occupation requirement for H-1B sponsorship applies here as it does nationally, meaning the role must typically require a relevant bachelor's degree. Ohio's lower cost of living compared to coastal markets can make sponsored positions more financially attractive.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored support lead jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
