Which companies in Ohio sponsor visas for business development professionals?
Large Ohio-based employers with consistent visa sponsorship histories for business development roles include Nationwide Insurance, KeyBank, and Fifth Third Bank in financial services, Procter & Gamble and Sherwin-Williams in consumer goods, and healthcare systems like Cleveland Clinic and OhioHealth. Mid-sized technology firms in Columbus's growing tech corridor also appear regularly in Department of Labor sponsorship filings for business development positions.
Which visa types are most common for business development professional roles in Ohio?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa category for business development professionals in Ohio, provided the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as business administration, marketing, or a technical discipline. Some multinational employers also use the L-1B for intracompany transferees moving into business development roles from overseas offices.
Which Ohio cities have the most business development professional visa sponsorship jobs?
Columbus generates the highest volume of sponsored business development roles in Ohio, driven by its concentration of insurance companies, fintech startups, and corporate headquarters. Cleveland follows, anchored by healthcare, manufacturing, and banking sectors. Cincinnati rounds out the top three, with significant activity from consumer goods firms and financial services employers headquartered in the greater Cincinnati metro area.
How to find business development professional visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find business development professional roles in Ohio where employers are open to visa sponsorship. The platform filters jobs specifically by sponsorship availability, saving time compared to manually screening postings. Focusing your search on Columbus, Cleveland, and Cincinnati will surface the highest concentration of relevant openings from Ohio employers with established sponsorship programs.
Are there any Ohio-specific considerations for business development professionals seeking visa sponsorship?
Ohio's mix of Fortune 500 headquarters and a growing university pipeline from Ohio State University, Case Western Reserve, and the University of Cincinnati means employers are familiar with international talent and H-1B processes. Business development roles must meet the specialty occupation standard, so positions emphasizing strategic planning, market analysis, or technical sales with a required degree field tend to support stronger sponsorship cases than general sales roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored business development professional jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
