Which companies in Ohio sponsor visas for finance business partners?
Large financial institutions and corporate headquarters are the most active sponsors in Ohio. JPMorgan Chase in Columbus, KeyCorp and Progressive Insurance in Cleveland, and Fifth Third Bank in Cincinnati have histories of H-1B sponsorship for finance roles. Nationwide Insurance and Cardinal Health also appear in Department of Labor disclosure data for finance business partner and FP&A positions. Mid-sized regional firms sponsor less frequently.
Which visa types are most common for finance business partner roles in Ohio?
The H-1B is the most common visa for finance business partners in Ohio, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Candidates with advanced degrees may also see EB-2 pathways pursued by employers for permanent sponsorship. Australians may qualify for the E-3 visa, which bypasses the H-1B lottery entirely.
Which cities in Ohio have the most finance business partner sponsorship jobs?
Columbus is Ohio's leading city for finance business partner sponsorship, driven by its concentration of insurance companies, banks, and large corporate headquarters. Cleveland follows closely, with a strong presence in banking and diversified financial services. Cincinnati is notable for its consumer goods and financial sector employers. Smaller markets like Dayton and Akron have limited sponsorship activity for this specific role.
How to find finance business partner visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates and filters finance business partner roles in Ohio by visa sponsorship eligibility, saving you from manually screening hundreds of postings. Because sponsoring employers in Ohio tend to be established financial services firms and large corporates rather than startups, focusing your search on that segment through Migrate Mate improves your odds of finding genuinely sponsorship-open positions.
Are there any Ohio-specific considerations for finance business partners pursuing sponsorship?
Ohio's finance business partner roles are heavily concentrated in the insurance and banking sectors, which means employers are experienced with H-1B sponsorship processes. The state's major universities, including Ohio State and Case Western Reserve, create a pipeline of international graduates who often transition into FP&A and business partnering roles. Prevailing wage requirements apply statewide and are determined by the Department of Labor based on the specific city and role level.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored finance business partner jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
