Which companies sponsor visas for healthcare assistants in Ohio?
The largest visa-sponsoring employers for healthcare assistants in Ohio are major health systems, including Cleveland Clinic, OhioHealth, University Hospitals, Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, and Kettering Health. These organizations have established immigration support infrastructure and have historically filed for H-1B and employment-based green card sponsorship for qualifying clinical and patient care roles.
Which visa types are most common for healthcare assistant roles in Ohio?
Healthcare assistant roles in Ohio most commonly involve the H-1B visa when the position qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. For some clinical support roles, the EB-3 immigrant visa is used for permanent residency sponsorship. VisaScreen certification from CGFNS International is typically required for internationally trained healthcare workers in direct patient care positions.
Which cities in Ohio have the most healthcare assistant sponsorship jobs?
Cleveland, Columbus, and Cincinnati concentrate the highest volume of healthcare assistant visa sponsorship opportunities in Ohio. Cleveland's medical corridor is anchored by Cleveland Clinic and University Hospitals. Columbus has OhioHealth and The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center as major employers. Cincinnati's healthcare hiring is driven largely by Cincinnati Children's and TriHealth. Dayton and Toledo offer additional opportunities through regional health systems.
How to find healthcare assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate is the most targeted way to find healthcare assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio. The platform filters job listings specifically to roles where employers are open to sponsoring work visas, so you're not wading through postings that exclude international candidates. Search by Ohio or filter to specific cities like Cleveland or Columbus to find relevant healthcare assistant openings with sponsorship.
Are there state-specific considerations for healthcare assistants seeking sponsorship in Ohio?
Ohio requires healthcare assistants working in licensed facilities to meet state certification and background check requirements, which apply regardless of immigration status. Internationally trained candidates should verify their credentials are recognized by the Ohio State Medical Board or relevant licensing body before applying. Large academic medical centers affiliated with Ohio State University and Case Western Reserve University sometimes offer additional support resources for internationally recruited clinical staff.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored healthcare assistant jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
