Which companies in Ohio sponsor visas for product support engineers?
Established Ohio employers with documented H-1B sponsorship history for technical support roles include Diebold Nixdorf (North Canton), NCR Voyix, and Oracle's Columbus offices. Larger enterprise software and fintech firms operating in Columbus and Cleveland also appear regularly in DOL Labor Condition Application filings for product support and technical engineer positions. Sponsorship availability varies by team and hiring cycle.
What visa types are most common for product support engineers in Ohio?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for product support engineers in Ohio, provided the role requires a specific bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as computer science, information systems, or engineering. Candidates already holding L-1B intracompany transferee status or O-1 visas may also apply. TN status is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering occupations.
How to find product support engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship willingness, so you can browse product support engineer openings in Ohio without manually screening each employer. The platform surfaces roles from companies with active sponsorship history in the state, which is particularly useful for targeting Columbus and Cleveland tech clusters where hiring volume for this role is highest.
Which Ohio cities have the most product support engineer sponsorship jobs?
Columbus accounts for the largest share of product support engineer sponsorship activity in Ohio, driven by its concentration of enterprise software, fintech, and insurance technology companies. Cleveland follows, with a mix of legacy technology firms and healthcare IT employers. Cincinnati has a smaller but active market, particularly among consumer goods technology and logistics software companies with established technical support teams.
Are there any Ohio-specific considerations for product support engineers seeking visa sponsorship?
Ohio's product support engineering market is shaped heavily by its manufacturing and financial services sectors, so employers often expect familiarity with enterprise or industrial software platforms. Prevailing wage determinations for this role in Ohio are set by the Department of Labor based on the specific location and job duties. Ohio State University and Case Western Reserve University also feed technical talent pipelines that some sponsoring employers actively recruit from.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product support engineer jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
