Which companies in Ohio sponsor visas for software product managers?
Ohio's largest H-1B sponsors for product and technology roles include JPMorgan Chase in Columbus, Progressive Insurance in Mayfield Village, Nationwide in Columbus, and Hyland Software in Westlake. NCR Atleos and Sherwin-Williams also maintain technology divisions with sponsorship histories. Mid-size SaaS and fintech companies in the Columbus metro have also filed LCAs for product manager roles in recent years.
What visa types are most common for software product managers in Ohio?
The H-1B is by far the most common visa for software product managers in Ohio, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. Candidates already in the U.S. on F-1 OPT, including STEM OPT extensions, frequently use that period to secure H-1B sponsorship. The O-1A is another pathway for candidates with demonstrated exceptional achievement in product management.
Which Ohio cities have the most software product manager sponsorship jobs?
Columbus accounts for the largest share of software product manager sponsorship activity in Ohio, driven by its concentration of financial services, insurance technology, and enterprise software employers. Cleveland follows, with tech divisions at Progressive, KeyBank, and several health-tech firms. Cincinnati has a smaller but growing presence, particularly among consumer goods companies like Procter and Gamble that have invested in digital product teams.
How to find software product manager visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate filters software product manager roles in Ohio specifically to employers with active or recent visa sponsorship histories, so you're not sifting through listings from companies that don't sponsor. Searching by state and role on Migrate Mate surfaces positions at Ohio-based tech divisions, fintech firms, and enterprise software companies where sponsorship is a real possibility, saving significant research time for international candidates on OPT or awaiting H-1B.
Are there any Ohio-specific considerations for software product managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Ohio falls under the Department of Labor's Midwest prevailing wage region, so H-1B LCAs filed by Ohio employers must meet wage levels tied to local market rates rather than national figures, which can differ from coastal tech hubs. Columbus's growing reputation as a fintech and insurance technology center has expanded the pool of sponsoring employers beyond traditional tech companies. Ohio State University and Case Western Reserve University also produce a pipeline of domestic graduates that influences how competitively employers recruit internationally.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored software product manager jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
