• Please note that for the first year, when not out on sites, this role will work from our office. We have a flexplace policy offered following the first year of employment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Investigate and analyze mechanical devices, products and designs
• Conduct field investigations and perform forensic engineering failure/accident analysis on incidents involving all types of machinery, mechanical equipment and devices including cranes, presses, pressure vessels and hydraulic, pneumatic systems, etc.
• Conduct unbiased investigations for various clients
• Responsible for retention and development of client relationships
• Provide technical findings and conclusions in laymen's terms, both verbally and in written reports
• Support conclusions by appropriate testimony in legal proceedings
• Deliver professional presentations, develop client relationships and promote self to client groups
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
• Ability to accept and integrate constructive feedback into job performance

Regular and predictable presence at work

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering field
• P.E. registration through testing or ability to attain quickly
• Knowledge of machine design and mechanical systems
• Minimum of three years industry engineering experience
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong writing and public speaking skills

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to travel 25% of the time
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Ability to carry equipment to and from job sites
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
• Ability to maneuver in and around an accident site
• Ability to drive in all conditions
• Ability to fly on airplanes
• Ability to visually inspect job sites and relevant artifacts
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required by the work site
• Ability to learn a new industry and obtain required certifications
