Which companies sponsor visas for assistant project managers in Oklahoma?
Energy and infrastructure companies are the most active sponsors in Oklahoma. Williams Companies and ONEOK in Tulsa, Devon Energy and OGE Energy in Oklahoma City, and large construction firms like Manhattan Construction have histories of sponsoring project management roles. Government contractors and engineering consultancies operating near Tinker Air Force Base also hire assistant project managers with visa sponsorship support.
Which visa types are most common for assistant project manager roles in Oklahoma?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for assistant project managers in Oklahoma, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. L-1B visas are also used when candidates transfer within a multinational company. TN visas apply to Canadian and Mexican nationals working in qualifying engineering-adjacent project management roles.
Which cities in Oklahoma have the most assistant project manager sponsorship jobs?
Tulsa and Oklahoma City account for the majority of assistant project manager sponsorship activity in Oklahoma. Tulsa's energy corridor, home to pipeline and midstream companies, generates consistent demand. Oklahoma City draws from oil and gas, healthcare construction, and government contracting. Smaller markets like Norman and Stillwater occasionally post roles tied to university-affiliated research and infrastructure projects.
How to find assistant project manager visa sponsorship jobs in Oklahoma?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search assistant project manager roles in Oklahoma without sorting through positions that don't sponsor. The platform focuses on H-1B and other work visa categories, which is especially useful in Oklahoma's energy and construction sectors where sponsorship patterns are concentrated among a defined set of large employers.
Are there any state-specific considerations for assistant project managers seeking sponsorship in Oklahoma?
Oklahoma's project management market is heavily shaped by the energy sector, so candidates with engineering or technical degrees tend to have stronger sponsorship prospects than those with general business backgrounds. Oklahoma State University and the University of Oklahoma produce a steady pipeline of candidates, meaning competition can be high. Employers in the oil and gas sector are accustomed to sponsorship processes, which generally makes them more prepared sponsors than employers in other industries.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored assistant project manager jobs in Oklahoma?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
