Which companies in Oklahoma sponsor visas for business development lead roles?
Energy sector employers such as Devon Energy, Chesapeake Energy, and ONEOK in Oklahoma City and Tulsa have sponsored work visas for business-facing roles. Aerospace contractors including Spirit AeroSystems and NORDAM also hire internationally for business development positions. Technology and healthcare companies in the Oklahoma City metro are additional sources of sponsorship, though willingness varies by employer and headcount.
What visa types are most common for business development lead roles in Oklahoma?
The H-1B is the most common visa for business development leads in Oklahoma, provided the role requires at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as business administration, marketing, or a technical discipline. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may qualify for the TN visa under NAFTA successor provisions. Executives or managers transferring from a parent or affiliate company abroad may explore the L-1A category.
Which Oklahoma cities have the most business development lead visa sponsorship jobs?
Oklahoma City and Tulsa account for the overwhelming majority of business development lead sponsorship opportunities in the state. Oklahoma City draws demand from energy, government contracting, and healthcare employers, while Tulsa is concentrated in aerospace, manufacturing, and energy midstream. Smaller markets like Norman, which has ties to the University of Oklahoma research ecosystem, occasionally see sponsorship activity in technology-adjacent business roles.
How to find business development lead visa sponsorship jobs in Oklahoma?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship and lets you filter business development lead roles by state, including Oklahoma. Rather than sorting through postings that do not address sponsorship, Migrate Mate surfaces employers with a documented history of sponsoring work visas for business development positions, which is particularly useful given how much sponsorship willingness varies across Oklahoma's energy, aerospace, and technology sectors.
Are there any state-specific considerations for business development leads seeking sponsorship in Oklahoma?
Oklahoma's economy is heavily tied to energy price cycles, which affects hiring volume for business development leads in oil and gas companies. Employers filing H-1B petitions must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements for the specific metro area, meaning wages in Oklahoma City and Tulsa are benchmarked separately. The University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University produce graduates who sometimes transition from OPT into sponsored business development roles at state employers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored business development lead jobs in Oklahoma?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
