About This Role:
Join Crusoe Energy as a Mid-Career Mechanical Design Engineer. In this role, you will execute the transformation of customer requirements into production-ready 3D models and detailed drawings for modular integrated electronics buildings and standalone power distribution equipment. You will focus on creating precise fabrication drawings and ensuring designs are functional and compliant with regulatory and commercial codes.
This position requires a collaborative engineer with strong 3D modeling skills and a solid understanding of mechanical design related to modular buildings and power distribution.
What You’ll Be Working On:
- Mechanical Design & Documentation: Design modular integrated buildings, low voltage switchboards, medium voltage switchgear, and critical power distribution equipment.
- Technical Documentation: Develop specification sheets, bills of materials (BOMs), detailed assembly instructions, and manufacturing documents with a high standard for accuracy.
- Detailed Drawings: Deliver accurate and timely shop drawings, product submittals, operation and maintenance (O&M) manuals, and as-built drawings, ensuring traceability across projects.
- Code Compliance: Ensure product designs comply with regulatory requirements, commercial codes, customer specifications, and engineering standards.
- Quality Assurance: Participate in model reviews and drawing checks as part of the engineering design release process to ensure quality and design accuracy.
- Manufacturing Efficiency: Participate in Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMA) and Design for Excellence (DFx) reviews to support cost reduction and enhance manufacturing efficiency.
- Lifecycle Management: Execute Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) as part of product release and lifecycle management, coordinating with cross-functional teams for smooth implementation.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Sales, Project Management, Purchasing, and Manufacturing teams to support customer inquiries and resolve technical problems.
- Process Improvement: Help identify and implement improvements to design procedures and methodologies to enhance safety and quality.
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or an equivalent engineering discipline.
- Experience: 3-5+ years of experience in mechanical design, ideally with engineered-to-order power distribution equipment.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency with 3D modeling software, specifically SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM, to manage complex designs and assemblies.
- Materials Knowledge: Strong knowledge of metals and materials used for fabrication, including properties and manufacturing methods.
- Code Application: Working knowledge of building codes, energy codes, and UL listings, with the ability to interpret and apply them to designs.
- First Principles: Ability to solve engineering problems utilizing a first principles approach to design and analysis.
- Detail Orientation: Meticulous commitment to detail ensuring precision in design, analysis, and documentation.
- Safety and Compliance: This position is designated a safety-sensitive position and/or is located in a safety-sensitive facility. Drug and alcohol program participation is required.
- Physical & Operational Requirements: Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.

- Experience using Enterprise/Manufacturing Resource Planning (ERP/MRP) software.

Compensation:
Compensation will be paid in the range of $120,000 - $135,000 + Bonus. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
