Which companies sponsor visas for operations roles in Oklahoma?
Energy companies including Devon Energy, ONEOK, and Williams Companies have sponsored operations professionals in Oklahoma, as have aerospace and defense employers like American Airlines maintenance operations in Tulsa. Large distribution and manufacturing firms tied to Oklahoma City's logistics corridor also appear in federal LCA disclosure data as recurring sponsors for operations titles such as operations manager and supply chain analyst.
Which visa types are most common for operations roles in Oklahoma?
The H-1B is the most common visa for operations roles that require a bachelor's degree in a specific field, such as industrial engineering, supply chain management, or business operations. The L-1A and L-1B are also relevant for operations professionals transferring within multinational companies, particularly in Oklahoma's energy and aerospace sectors. TN status applies to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying operations-related occupations.
Which cities in Oklahoma have the most operations sponsorship jobs?
Oklahoma City and Tulsa account for the large majority of operations visa sponsorship activity in the state. Oklahoma City benefits from its concentration of energy company headquarters, federal agencies, and logistics infrastructure. Tulsa's aerospace manufacturing corridor and the presence of major energy midstream companies make it the second-largest market. Smaller markets like Norman and Edmond occasionally have openings tied to university-affiliated or healthcare operations roles.
How to find operations visa sponsorship jobs in Oklahoma?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for visa sponsorship, making it straightforward to browse operations roles in Oklahoma without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. You can filter by state and job category to surface openings from employers in Oklahoma City, Tulsa, and surrounding areas. Migrate Mate also provides context on which employers have sponsored operations roles previously, which helps you prioritize applications.
Are there state-specific considerations for operations roles and visa sponsorship in Oklahoma?
Oklahoma's energy sector operates on project-based hiring cycles tied to commodity markets, which can affect the timing and volume of sponsorship-eligible openings. Employers filing H-1B petitions for operations roles must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements specific to the Oklahoma City or Tulsa metropolitan areas, which are calculated separately from national averages. Oklahoma State University and the University of Oklahoma also produce operations and industrial engineering graduates who enter the sponsorship pipeline through OPT.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored operations jobs in Oklahoma?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
