Which companies sponsor visas for OTs in Oklahoma?
Large health systems are the most active sponsors. INTEGRIS Health, OU Health, Saint Francis Health System, and Ascension St. John in Tulsa have historically filed H-1B and PERM applications for occupational therapists. Long-term care networks and pediatric therapy providers across the state also sponsor, though less frequently than major hospital groups. Checking DOL OFLC disclosure data confirms which Oklahoma employers have active sponsorship histories.
What visa types are most common for OT roles in Oklahoma?
The H-1B is the most common nonimmigrant visa for occupational therapists in Oklahoma because OT qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a master's degree. The EB-3 immigrant visa is a frequent permanent residency pathway, often paired with PERM labor certification. International OTs who are Canadian or Mexican citizens may also qualify for the TN visa, which covers physical therapists and closely related allied health occupations.
Which cities in Oklahoma have the most OT sponsorship jobs?
Oklahoma City and Tulsa account for the majority of OT sponsorship opportunities in the state. Oklahoma City's density of hospitals, VA facilities, and outpatient rehab clinics drives consistent hiring. Tulsa's health corridor, anchored by Saint Francis and Ascension, is similarly active. Smaller markets like Lawton and Norman occasionally post sponsored OT roles, primarily through hospital systems and school districts serving those regions.
How to find ot visa sponsorship jobs in Oklahoma?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to find OT roles in Oklahoma where employers are open to sponsoring H-1B or EB-3 applicants. Rather than sorting through general job boards and guessing at sponsorship willingness, Migrate Mate surfaces Oklahoma OT positions from employers with documented sponsorship histories, saving significant research time for international candidates.
Are there any state-specific considerations for OTs seeking sponsorship in Oklahoma?
Oklahoma requires OTs to hold a state license issued by the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision before practicing, so sponsoring employers typically coordinate the licensing timeline alongside the visa process. OT programs at the University of Oklahoma and Langston University create a local talent pipeline, which means sponsored international candidates are often competing for roles at facilities with specific specialization needs, such as pediatrics, neurological rehab, or rural outreach positions.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored ot jobs in Oklahoma?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
