Which companies sponsor visas for tax managers in Oklahoma?
Oklahoma's largest visa sponsors for tax management roles include energy companies such as Devon Energy, ONEOK, and Williams Companies, along with regional affiliates of Deloitte, PwC, and KPMG in Tulsa and Oklahoma City. Healthcare systems like INTEGRIS Health and the University of Oklahoma have also filed sponsorships for senior tax professionals. Sponsorship is more common at large corporations than at smaller local firms.
Which visa types are most common for tax manager roles in Oklahoma?
H-1B is the most commonly used visa for tax manager positions in Oklahoma, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, or a related field. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify under the TN visa category as accountants. Candidates with significant international recognition in tax may explore the O-1 visa, though it is far less common for this role.
Which cities in Oklahoma have the most tax manager sponsorship jobs?
Oklahoma City and Tulsa account for the overwhelming majority of tax manager sponsorship opportunities in the state. Oklahoma City benefits from its concentration of energy sector headquarters and state government-adjacent organizations, while Tulsa hosts a strong cluster of mid-market manufacturers, energy firms, and professional services offices. Norman sees occasional postings tied to University of Oklahoma-connected employers.
How to find tax manager visa sponsorship jobs in Oklahoma?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship and filters tax manager roles in Oklahoma by employer sponsorship history, visa type, and location. Rather than sorting through general job postings, Migrate Mate surfaces positions where sponsorship has been documented, making it more efficient for candidates targeting Oklahoma's energy and professional services sectors.
Are there state-specific considerations for tax managers seeking sponsorship in Oklahoma?
Oklahoma's energy industry creates unusual demand for tax professionals with expertise in oil and gas taxation, depletion allowances, and severance tax compliance, which can strengthen a sponsorship case by demonstrating specialized skills. Employers filing H-1B petitions must pay the prevailing wage for the role and location as determined by Department of Labor standards. Oklahoma State University and the University of Oklahoma also feed regional accounting pipelines that some employers use to identify sponsorship candidates.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored tax manager jobs in Oklahoma?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
