JOB DETAILS
Our client is an established firm that is rapidly growing within the market and they are seeking a Tax Manager to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with a quick-moving process. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing our tax department, ensuring compliance with the latest tax laws, preparing tax returns, and advising on tax strategies and planning. This is a critical role that requires a deep understanding of state and local tax, federal and state tax, and tax preparation. CPA or EA accreditation is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the entire tax process, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and international tax laws and regulations.
- Prepare and review complex tax returns, including individual, corporate, partnership, and non-profit tax returns.
- Develop and implement strategic tax planning for clients.
- Lead and mentor junior staff, fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment.
- Interact with clients to provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise.
- Conduct research on various tax matters, interpret tax law, and provide updates to clients on impact of new laws.
- Review financial data for accuracy and tax law adherence, and make necessary adjustments.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline procedures and ensure client satisfaction.
- Stay current on tax law changes and accounting procedures to maintain compliance and competitiveness.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Advanced degree is a plus.
- CPA or EA accreditation is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in public tax accounting.
- Proven experience with state and local tax, federal and state tax, and tax preparation.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead a team effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Proficient in tax software and technology to streamline tax preparation and compliance processes.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to stay current with the latest industry trends and tax law changes.
