Which companies sponsor visas for technical managers in Oregon?
Intel is one of Oregon's largest visa sponsors, with its Hillsboro campus serving as a major semiconductor hub. Nike and Adidas sponsor technical managers at their Beaverton headquarters, while companies like Daimler Trucks North America, Lattice Semiconductor, and a growing cluster of Portland-based software firms also have documented H-1B visa sponsorship histories for technical management roles.
Which visa types are most common for technical manager roles in Oregon?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for technical managers in Oregon, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field. Candidates with extraordinary ability may qualify for the O-1A, and managers transferring from a foreign affiliate of an Oregon employer may be eligible for the L-1A intracompany transferee visa.
Which cities in Oregon have the most technical manager sponsorship jobs?
Portland accounts for the largest concentration of technical manager sponsorship opportunities in Oregon, driven by its software and technology sector. Hillsboro follows closely, anchored by Intel's large campus and associated semiconductor supply chain companies. Beaverton is notable for corporate technical roles at Nike and Adidas. Eugene has a smaller but growing tech presence, partly connected to the University of Oregon's research output.
How to find technical manager visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship, making it easier to filter technical manager roles in Oregon without sifting through jobs that don't offer sponsorship. You can search by role and state to surface employers with active openings and verified sponsorship histories in Oregon's tech and manufacturing sectors, saving significant time compared to general job searches.
Are there any Oregon-specific considerations for technical managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Oregon's prevailing wage requirements under the H-1B program are shaped by its regional cost of living, particularly in the Portland metro area, which sits in a different wage tier than rural Oregon counties. Intel's presence in Hillsboro has created a well-established sponsorship pipeline, meaning immigration attorneys and employer HR teams in the area have significant experience processing technical manager petitions, which can streamline the process.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored technical manager jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
