We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Electrical Controls Engineer to join our innovative engineering team. The Electrical Engineer is responsible for supporting plant operations—both maintenance and production—by ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and continuous improvement of electrical and process control systems. This position focuses on troubleshooting, designing, upgrading, and maintaining equipment and systems to meet plant goals related to safety, quality, uptime, productivity, and cost control.
The role supports daily operational needs while also leading projects that improve equipment reliability, process flow, and long-term operational efficiency.
Duties
- Support daily operations of plant departments (including CVD coating operations and general maintenance).
- Respond immediately to production downtime or equipment failures.
- Provide technical guidance to operators, maintenance personnel, and supervisors.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and improve electrical and automated control systems (PLC, HMI, drives, sensors, safety systems).
- Analyze process control systems and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain and improve equipment reliability and uptime.
- Conceive, design, specify, and oversee installation of electrical/process control projects.
- Manage projects from concept through commissioning.
- Evaluate new technology and implement improvements where appropriate.
- Collaborate with central engineering, R&D, vendors, and contractors.
- Support plant quality goals by ensuring equipment and processes meet required specifications.
- Assist in coordinating daily production operations to optimize throughput and minimize downtime.
- Participate in root-cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Maintain regular communication with management on maintenance and production issues.
- Work collaboratively with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Purchasing, and Storeroom.
- Train operators, maintenance staff, and others as needed.
- Assist with preparation of cost estimates and project authorization requests.
- Control project expenditures to remain within budget.
- Ensure efficient use of outside contractors and vendors.
