Which companies sponsor visas for partnerships managers in Puerto Rico?
Pharmaceutical manufacturers with San Juan operations, including AbbVie, Amgen, and Bristol Myers Squibb, have historically sponsored work visas for business development and partnerships roles. Financial services firms operating under Puerto Rico's tax incentive programs and technology companies in the isla's emerging startup sector also appear in sponsorship filings. Sponsorship availability varies by company size and hiring cycle, so confirming directly with each employer is important.
Which visa types are most common for partnerships manager roles in Puerto Rico?
The H-1B visa is the most frequently used visa for partnerships manager positions in Puerto Rico, provided the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in a related field such as business, marketing, or management. The L-1B and L-1A are relevant for candidates transferring within a multinational company into a Puerto Rico office. Australians may also qualify for the E-3 visa, which follows a similar specialty occupation standard but has no lottery.
How to find partnerships manager visa sponsorship jobs in Puerto Rico?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search partnerships manager roles in Puerto Rico without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. The platform is built for international candidates, making it straightforward to identify which Puerto Rico employers are actively hiring for this role and willing to support the visa process. Filtering by location and role type narrows results quickly.
Which cities in Puerto Rico have the most partnerships manager sponsorship jobs?
San Juan accounts for the large majority of partnerships manager sponsorship opportunities in Puerto Rico, driven by its concentration of pharmaceutical headquarters, financial institutions, and professional services firms. Guaynabo and Bayamon, which border San Juan and host significant corporate campuses, also see hiring activity. Roles outside the metropolitan area are uncommon for partnerships-focused positions, which tend to require proximity to corporate decision-makers and client networks.
Are there any Puerto Rico-specific considerations for partnerships managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Puerto Rico follows federal immigration law, so H-1B and other visa petitions are filed with USCIS exactly as they would be for a mainland U.S. position. However, the island's Act 22 and Act 60 tax incentive programs attract internationally oriented companies that are often more experienced with cross-border hiring. Prevailing wage determinations for partnerships manager roles are set at the Puerto Rico metropolitan statistical area level, which differs from mainland wage tiers and is worth understanding before evaluating offers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored partnerships manager jobs in Puerto Rico?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
