Which companies sponsor visas for care assistants in Rhode Island?
The largest sponsors for care assistant roles in Rhode Island tend to be health systems and post-acute care networks. Lifespan Health System, Care New England, and ManorCare Health Services operate facilities across Providence and surrounding counties that have filed for sponsored positions. Smaller home health agencies affiliated with national staffing groups also sponsor, particularly for certified nursing assistant and personal care aide titles.
Which visa types are most common for care assistant roles in Rhode Island?
H-1B sponsorship is uncommon for care assistant roles because most positions do not require a bachelor's degree in a specialty field. EB-3 immigrant visa sponsorship, including the unskilled or other worker category, is more frequently used by long-term care employers. Some facilities also sponsor through H-2B for temporary placements, though availability is limited. Eligibility depends on the specific duties and employer willingness to file a PERM labor certification.
How to find care assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Rhode Island?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find care assistant visa sponsorship jobs in Rhode Island. The platform filters specifically for employers who have indicated sponsorship willingness, so you are not sifting through listings that require existing U.S. work authorization. Searching by Rhode Island lets you surface openings at Providence-area health systems, skilled nursing facilities in Woonsocket, and home health agencies serving the greater Warwick area.
Which cities in Rhode Island have the most care assistant sponsorship jobs?
Providence has the highest concentration of care assistant sponsorship activity, anchored by the major hospital systems and affiliated long-term care facilities in the city. Warwick and Cranston also see consistent hiring through regional nursing home chains. Woonsocket, in northern Rhode Island, has notable demand tied to healthcare employers serving the Blackstone Valley corridor. These four cities account for the majority of sponsored care positions in the state.
Are there any Rhode Island-specific considerations for care assistant visa sponsorship?
Rhode Island requires care assistants working in licensed facilities to meet state certification standards through the Department of Health, which can affect how employers structure sponsored roles and training timelines. Rhode Island's relatively small geographic size means employers in Providence often draw from the same labor pool as nearby Massachusetts facilities, which can influence how aggressively individual employers pursue international sponsorship compared to states with larger rural workforce shortages.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored care assistant jobs in Rhode Island?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
