Which accounting companies sponsor Green Card visas in South Carolina?
Multinationals with manufacturing or distribution operations in the Upstate region, including companies in the automotive and advanced manufacturing supply chain around Greenville and Spartanburg, are among the more active Green Card sponsors for accounting roles. Regional offices of national public accounting firms and large financial services employers in Columbia also appear in PERM labor certification filings. Sponsorship activity tends to follow where companies have significant U.S. headcount and ongoing accounting staffing needs.
Which cities in South Carolina have the most accounting Green Card sponsorship jobs?
Greenville and Spartanburg in the Upstate lead in employer-sponsored accounting roles, driven by a high concentration of international manufacturers and their finance functions. Columbia, as the state capital and home to several large financial institutions and government contractors, also generates steady demand. Charleston's growing professional services sector contributes sponsored positions in audit and corporate accounting, particularly as the city attracts regional headquarters.
How do I find accounting Green Card sponsorship jobs in South Carolina?
Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for accounting roles with Green Card sponsorship in South Carolina, surfacing employers with verified PERM and employer-sponsored filing history. This is more reliable than general job searches because sponsorship status is confirmed through DOL labor certification data rather than self-reported employer claims. Searching by occupation and state on Migrate Mate narrows results to positions where the employer has demonstrated a track record of sponsoring permanent residency for accounting professionals.
What types of accounting roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in South Carolina?
Roles requiring at least a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field are the most common Green Card sponsorship candidates. These include staff and senior accountants, financial analysts, internal auditors, tax specialists, and controllers. Positions tied to compliance, consolidation, or management reporting within multinationals tend to attract sponsorship because they require specialized expertise and continuity. CPA licensure or advanced credentials strengthen a candidate's position in the PERM process but are not universally required.
Are there any South Carolina-specific considerations for accounting Green Card sponsorship?
South Carolina does not impose state-level immigration or sponsorship requirements beyond federal PERM and I-140 processes. However, the state's concentration of international manufacturers means many accounting Green Card filings are tied to companies headquartered abroad, which can affect how quickly an employer initiates sponsorship. CPA licensure in South Carolina is issued through the South Carolina Board of Accountancy, and some senior roles require it, which can factor into job requirements listed in a PERM application.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card accounting jobs in South Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
