Which companies sponsor visas for personal assistants in South Carolina?
Visa sponsorship for personal assistants in South Carolina is most common among large corporate employers, healthcare organizations like MUSC Health and Prisma Health, and established hospitality groups in Charleston. High-net-worth family offices and executive services firms in Greenville have also filed sponsorship petitions, though the overall volume is lower than in states with denser corporate headquarters concentrations.
Which visa types are most common for personal assistant roles in South Carolina?
The H-1B is the most commonly pursued visa for personal assistant roles, but it requires the employer to demonstrate the position qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in a specific field. O-1A visas are an option for candidates with extraordinary ability. TN visa status is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories. Not every personal assistant role will meet H-1B specialty occupation requirements, so employer documentation is critical.
Which cities in South Carolina have the most personal assistant sponsorship jobs?
Charleston leads South Carolina for personal assistant sponsorship activity, driven by its corporate, hospitality, and healthcare sectors. Columbia follows as the state capital and home to the University of South Carolina's administrative and executive functions. Greenville has grown significantly as a business hub, attracting BMW's U.S. headquarters and a cluster of manufacturing and professional services firms that occasionally sponsor executive support staff.
How to find personal assistant visa sponsorship jobs in South Carolina?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find personal assistant roles in South Carolina where employers are open to visa sponsorship. The platform filters specifically for sponsorship-eligible positions, saving you from applying to roles where sponsorship is unavailable. Focus your search on Charleston, Columbia, and Greenville, and prioritize applications to larger employers in healthcare, hospitality, and corporate services, where sponsorship infrastructure is more established.
What should international candidates know about pursuing personal assistant roles in South Carolina specifically?
South Carolina's prevailing wage requirements mean employers must pay H-1B workers wages consistent with DOL-established levels for the role and location, which are generally lower than in major metro markets like New York or San Francisco. The state's growing business corridor along the I-85 and I-26 corridors creates opportunities, but candidates should verify that their prospective employer has prior H-1B filing history, as first-time sponsors face a more involved compliance process.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored personal assistant jobs in South Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
