Which companies sponsor visas for program development managers in South Dakota?
Sanford Health and Avera Health are among the most active sponsors in South Dakota for management-level roles, given their scale and ongoing program expansion. South Dakota State University and the University of South Dakota also sponsor international candidates for administrative and program leadership positions. Larger financial services firms headquartered in Sioux Falls, such as Citibank's regional operations, have historically filed H-1B petitions for specialized management roles.
Which visa types are most common for program development manager roles in South Dakota?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for program development managers in South Dakota, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as business administration, public health, or a related discipline, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Candidates with qualifying backgrounds may also explore the O-1A for demonstrated extraordinary ability, or the TN visa if they hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship and the role aligns with USMCA-listed occupations.
Which cities in South Dakota have the most program development manager sponsorship jobs?
Sioux Falls accounts for the largest share of program development manager openings in South Dakota, driven by its concentration of healthcare systems, financial services companies, and nonprofit organizations. Rapid City is the second most active market, with employers in healthcare, tribal government programs, and federal agencies hiring program managers. Pierre occasionally posts state government-adjacent roles, though sponsorship from public-sector employers is less common.
How to find program development manager visa sponsorship jobs in South Dakota?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship eligibility, making it practical to search for program development manager roles in South Dakota without manually sorting through postings that don't support international candidates. You can filter by state and role to surface employers in Sioux Falls, Rapid City, and elsewhere in South Dakota who have an established history of sponsoring work visas for program management positions.
Are there state-specific considerations for program development manager sponsorship in South Dakota?
South Dakota has a relatively small labor market, which means fewer overall openings compared to larger states, but competition for sponsored roles can also be less intense. Employers filing H-1B petitions must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements for the Sioux Falls or Rapid City metropolitan areas, which are set below rates in coastal markets. Healthcare and higher education remain the most reliable sponsoring industries, given their federal funding ties and established HR processes for international hiring.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored program development manager jobs in South Dakota?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
