Which companies sponsor visas for accountants in Tennessee?
Large employers with established immigration programs are the most consistent sponsors. In Tennessee, HCA Healthcare and Community Health Systems in Nashville regularly sponsor accounting professionals. FedEx in Memphis has sponsored finance and accounting roles. National public accounting firms including Deloitte, Ernst & Young, and KPMG, which maintain Tennessee offices, also have structured sponsorship processes for staff and senior accountant positions.
Which visa types are most common for accountant roles in Tennessee?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for accountants in Tennessee, as accounting qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field. Some candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship pursue the TN visa under the USMCA, which explicitly lists accountants as a qualifying profession and does not require an annual lottery. Australians may qualify for the E-3 visa.
Which cities in Tennessee have the most accountant sponsorship jobs?
Nashville is Tennessee's primary market for sponsored accounting roles, driven by its concentration of healthcare corporations, entertainment companies, and regional headquarters. Memphis ranks second, with logistics, transportation, and distribution companies like FedEx anchoring demand for accounting staff. Knoxville has a smaller but active market connected to manufacturing, energy, and University of Tennessee-affiliated organizations that occasionally sponsor international accounting professionals.
How to find accountant visa sponsorship jobs in Tennessee?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can browse accountant roles in Tennessee without sorting through positions that won't support international candidates. The platform surfaces openings from employers with active sponsorship histories in accounting, including corporate finance, audit, and tax roles across Nashville, Memphis, and Knoxville. Filtering by state and role saves significant time compared to unfiltered job searches.
Are there any Tennessee-specific factors that affect accountant visa sponsorship?
Tennessee has no state income tax on wages, which affects prevailing wage calculations employers use for H-1B Labor Condition Applications, since take-home pay comparisons differ from high-tax states. The state's strong healthcare sector, anchored in Nashville, creates consistent demand for accountants with healthcare finance experience, making candidates with that background particularly competitive. Tennessee's public universities also produce a pipeline of accounting graduates, meaning sponsored roles typically require specialized skills or credentials like a CPA license.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored accountant jobs in Tennessee?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
