Which companies sponsor visas for C.N.A.s in Tennessee?
The largest sponsors of C.N.A. positions in Tennessee are major health systems, including HCA Healthcare (headquartered in Nashville), Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Erlanger Health System in Chattanooga, and Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare in Memphis. Long-term care operators such as Brookdale Senior Living, also based in Nashville, have a history of sponsoring healthcare support staff across their Tennessee facilities.
Which visa types are most common for C.N.A. roles in Tennessee?
The H-1B visa is not typically available for C.N.A. roles because the position generally does not meet the specialty occupation requirement of a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Employers hiring foreign-national C.N.A.s more commonly pursue EB-3 immigrant visa sponsorship, which covers skilled and unskilled workers. Some facilities also hire through J-1 exchange programs or employ candidates already holding valid work authorization such as an EAD.
How to find c.n.a. visa sponsorship jobs in Tennessee?
Migrate Mate is a job board built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship in the U.S., including C.N.A. roles in Tennessee. You can filter directly by state and role to see active openings from Tennessee health systems and long-term care facilities that have indicated sponsorship availability. Focusing your search on larger hospital networks and multi-facility operators in Nashville and Memphis tends to surface the most consistent sponsorship opportunities.
Which cities in Tennessee have the most C.N.A. sponsorship jobs?
Nashville leads Tennessee for C.N.A. sponsorship activity, driven by the concentration of HCA Healthcare's corporate operations and Vanderbilt's academic medical center. Memphis is a strong second, anchored by Methodist Le Bonheur and Regional One Health. Knoxville and Chattanooga also see regular demand through University of Tennessee Medical Center and Erlanger Health System respectively. Rural East Tennessee facilities sometimes sponsor as well, given persistent staffing shortages in those communities.
Are there state-specific requirements C.N.A.s should know before pursuing Tennessee sponsorship jobs?
Tennessee requires C.N.A.s to hold active certification on the Tennessee Nurse Aide Registry before working in a licensed facility. International candidates will need to verify that their training credentials are recognized or complete any required bridging steps through the Tennessee Department of Health. Employers initiating EB-3 sponsorship must also comply with Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements, which are set at the county level and reflect local healthcare compensation benchmarks across different regions of the state.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored c.n.a. jobs in Tennessee?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
