This position plays a critical role in the bank’s transition from a transaction-focused model to a deposit gathering and small business growth model, acting as the primary point of contact for larger small business clients and a consultative resource for branch teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Build, expand, and retain a portfolio of larger small business relationships through proactive outreach, local market presence, and consultative selling.
- Deliver tailored solutions across deposits, lending, treasury management, and fee-based services.
- Act as a trusted advisor to help clients identify growth opportunities and manage risk.
- Partner with Relationship Bankers and branch teams to support small business customer conversations, referrals, and client transitions where relationship complexity or opportunity size warrants direct involvement.
- Provide guidance on needs-based discovery, financial analysis, and product positioning for small business clients.
- Serve as the escalation and expertise point for complex or larger small business opportunities within retail, including opportunities identified by local Financial Center Managers.
- Reinforce consistent execution of small business playbooks across the branch network.
- Use available capacity to support local Financial Center Managers with business development activities, client preparation, joint calls, and follow-up on high-potential small business opportunities.
- Manage inbound referrals from retail and generate outbound opportunities by prospecting for new larger small business clients within the local MSA.
- Drive deposit growth, small business lending volume, and fee income across assigned $1 million-plus relationships and targeted local prospects.
- Analyze business financials to assess creditworthiness and recommend appropriate lending structures.
- Collaborate with underwriting partners (e.g., Business Loan Center or BLC) to structure and execute solutions.

Search Finance Jobs in TennesseeFinance OPT Sponsorship Jobs in Tennessee: Frequently Asked Questions
Which finance companies in Tennessee sponsor F-1 OPT visas?
Several Tennessee-based financial institutions have a track record of hiring F-1 OPT candidates, including Pinnacle Financial Partners, First Horizon Bank, and regional branches of national firms like Truist, Wells Fargo, and Raymond James. Larger corporate finance departments at companies headquartered in Nashville, such as HCA Healthcare's finance division and Asurion, also hire OPT candidates for analyst and accounting roles.
Which cities in Tennessee have the most finance F-1 OPT sponsorship jobs?
Nashville is the leading market for finance OPT roles in Tennessee, driven by its concentration of banking headquarters, insurance firms, and a growing fintech presence. Memphis is the second-strongest market, with opportunities tied to regional banking and logistics finance at companies like FedEx. Knoxville and Chattanooga have smaller but active finance hiring pools, particularly around accounting and corporate finance roles.
What types of finance roles typically qualify for F-1 OPT sponsorship in Tennessee?
Roles that consistently qualify include financial analyst, credit analyst, accounting associate, risk and compliance analyst, investment operations associate, and corporate treasury analyst. These positions generally require a finance, accounting, economics, or mathematics degree, which satisfies the degree-field connection required for OPT work authorization. Positions with vague or generalist degree requirements may be harder to support under OPT's standard occupational classification rules.
How do I find finance F-1 OPT sponsorship jobs in Tennessee?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international students and filters jobs by visa type, so you can search for finance roles in Tennessee that are open to F-1 OPT candidates without sorting through listings that don't apply to you. Targeting Nashville-based employers directly and networking through Vanderbilt, Belmont, or University of Tennessee alumni in finance roles can also surface opportunities not widely advertised.
Are there any Tennessee-specific considerations for F-1 OPT sponsorship in finance?
Tennessee has no state income tax on wages, which affects net compensation comparisons but has no bearing on OPT eligibility or sponsorship requirements. One practical consideration: several Tennessee finance employers, particularly mid-size regional banks, are less familiar with OPT paperwork than large national firms. Coming prepared with your EAD card details and a clear explanation of your work authorization timeline can make the process smoother with HR teams in those organizations.
