Memphis offers additional opportunities through its established wealth management and trust administration firms. Are there any state-specific or industry-specific considerations for H-1B1 Chile sponsorship in Tennessee investment management?
Tennessee has no state income tax on wages, which affects compensation structuring conversations with employers but does not alter the federal H-1B1 prevailing wage obligations. Investment management employers in Tennessee must still certify through a Labor Condition Application that the offered wage meets the prevailing wage for the role and location, verified using the OFLC Wage Search tool. Chilean nationals should also confirm that their role falls under a recognized specialty occupation category, which O*NET occupation profiles can help substantiate during the application process.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B1 Chile investment management jobs in Tennessee?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
