Which companies sponsor visas for business development specialists in Texas?
Large technology companies with Texas headquarters or major offices, including Dell Technologies, Texas Instruments, and Oracle, regularly sponsor work visas for business development specialists. Energy giants such as ExxonMobil, Chevron, and Halliburton also hire internationally for BD roles tied to global accounts and partnerships. Enterprise software firms and management consulting companies with Dallas and Houston offices round out the most active sponsoring employers.
Which visa types are most common for business development specialist roles in Texas?
The H-1B is the most common visa for business development specialists in Texas, provided the role requires at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as business administration, marketing, or a technical discipline. The L-1B intracompany transfer visa is also relevant for candidates moving from a foreign affiliate into a Texas office. TN status applies to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying business roles.
Which cities in Texas have the most business development specialist sponsorship jobs?
Dallas-Fort Worth leads the state for business development specialist sponsorship activity, anchored by corporate headquarters in sectors including finance, telecom, and technology. Houston is the second-largest market, driven heavily by energy, petrochemical, and international trade companies. Austin has grown significantly as a tech hub, with companies like Apple, Google, and numerous startups actively hiring BD specialists and sponsoring work visas.
How to find business development specialist visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically to roles where employers are open to visa sponsorship, which removes the guesswork of identifying willing sponsors. For business development specialist positions in Texas, you can search by role and state to surface relevant openings across Houston, Dallas, and Austin. Migrate Mate draws from employer H-1B and LCA filing history to surface companies with demonstrated sponsorship track records.
What should business development specialists know about visa sponsorship considerations specific to Texas?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage comparisons since the Department of Labor benchmarks wages against local market rates rather than national figures. Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth have distinct prevailing wage levels for business development roles given their different industry compositions. Candidates with backgrounds in energy, enterprise software, or cross-border trade have an advantage, as Texas employers in those sectors regularly sponsor international hires for BD functions tied to global client relationships.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored business development specialist jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
