Which companies sponsor visas for cloud data engineers in Texas?
Large employers with consistent cloud data engineering hiring and sponsorship track records in Texas include Dell Technologies, AT&T, Amazon Web Services, ExxonMobil, JPMorgan Chase, and Oracle. Texas Instruments and Deloitte also file significant numbers of H-1B visa petitions for data and cloud roles. Sponsorship activity is concentrated among enterprise-scale companies and major consulting firms rather than early-stage startups.
Which visa types are most common for cloud data engineer roles in Texas?
The H-1B is the most common visa for cloud data engineers in Texas, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, information systems, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Candidates already holding L-1 visaB intracompany transferee visas or OPT authorization also fill these roles. Some positions at multinational firms qualify for L-1 visa transfers from international offices.
Which cities in Texas have the most cloud data engineer sponsorship jobs?
Austin leads Texas for cloud data engineering sponsorship, driven by a dense concentration of tech companies and regional headquarters. Dallas and its suburbs, including Irving and Plano, follow closely given the financial services and telecom sectors headquartered there. Houston adds significant volume through energy sector employers adopting cloud infrastructure. San Antonio has a smaller but growing presence tied to cybersecurity and defense contractors.
How to find cloud data engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates searching for visa-sponsored roles, making it straightforward to filter cloud data engineer jobs in Texas by sponsorship type and employer. Because sponsorship status is often unclear on general job boards, Migrate Mate surfaces roles where employers have documented sponsorship history, saving significant research time for candidates navigating H-1B or OPT timelines.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for cloud data engineers seeking sponsorship?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage comparisons since the Department of Labor sets H-1B wage levels by metropolitan area rather than state. Austin and Dallas wage floors for cloud data engineers reflect competitive metro-level benchmarks. Texas A&M and UT Austin produce strong local pipelines of international graduates on OPT, meaning employers in the state are generally familiar with sponsorship workflows for this role category.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored cloud data engineer jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
