Which companies in Texas sponsor visas for development managers?
Large employers with a consistent history of sponsoring development managers in Texas include Dell Technologies, AT&T, Amazon, IBM, Oracle, and Cisco, primarily across their Austin and Dallas offices. Healthcare IT firms in Houston and financial technology companies in the Dallas-Fort Worth area also sponsor regularly. Sponsorship is most common at enterprises with established immigration programs and dedicated HR infrastructure.
What visa types are most commonly used for development manager roles in Texas?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for development managers in Texas, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a related field. The L-1A is another pathway for managers transferring from a foreign affiliate or subsidiary of a Texas-based company. Australian nationals may also be eligible for the E-3 visa, which is cap-exempt and processed separately.
Which Texas cities have the most development manager visa sponsorship jobs?
Austin leads Texas for development manager sponsorship activity, anchored by major tech employers and a dense startup ecosystem. Dallas-Fort Worth ranks closely behind, driven by enterprise software, financial services, and telecom employers like AT&T and Fiserv. Houston sees sponsorship concentrated in energy-sector technology and healthcare IT, while San Antonio has a growing cybersecurity and defense-tech presence through companies like USAA and Rackspace.
How to find development manager visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically to roles where employers have a documented history of visa sponsorship, making it straightforward to find development manager positions in Texas without sifting through listings that won't support international candidates. You can filter by state and role to surface active openings across Austin, Dallas, and Houston. This is particularly useful given how inconsistently sponsorship willingness is disclosed in standard job postings.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for development manager sponsorship applicants?
Texas's concentration of H-1B filings in tech, energy, and healthcare IT means development managers with experience in those sectors are well-positioned. The University of Texas at Austin and Texas A&M produce large engineering pipelines, so employers are accustomed to sponsoring international talent. Prevailing wage determinations for development managers in Texas vary meaningfully by metro area, with Austin and Dallas commanding higher wage levels than smaller markets.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored development manager jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
