Which companies sponsor visas for development managers in Nevada?
Gaming technology companies are the most active sponsors for development manager roles in Nevada. IGT, Aristocrat Technologies, and Scientific Games have histories of H-1B filings for senior technical and managerial positions in Las Vegas. Outside gaming, data center operators and cloud infrastructure companies expanding in the Reno area also sponsor development managers, particularly those overseeing engineering teams on large-scale infrastructure projects.
Which visa types are most common for development manager roles in Nevada?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for development managers in Nevada, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related field, satisfying the specialty occupation requirement. Some candidates transfer from an L-1A intracompany transferee visa if they are relocating from a multinational employer's overseas office into a managerial role. O-1 visas are less common but possible for candidates with documented extraordinary achievements in software development or engineering leadership.
How to find development manager visa sponsorship jobs in Nevada?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship willingness, making it straightforward to identify development manager openings in Nevada where employers are actively open to sponsoring. Rather than sorting through general job postings, you can search Migrate Mate for development manager roles filtered to Nevada and focus your applications on companies that have already indicated sponsorship availability, saving time during a job search that often has tight visa timeline constraints.
Which cities in Nevada have the most development manager sponsorship jobs?
Las Vegas accounts for the majority of development manager sponsorship activity in Nevada, driven by the gaming technology industry and the city's growing base of enterprise software and fintech employers. Reno is the secondary market and has gained momentum as large-scale data center and logistics technology operations have expanded in the Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center, creating demand for development managers overseeing engineering teams supporting those facilities.
Are there any Nevada-specific considerations for development managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Development managers in Nevada need to meet the Department of Labor's prevailing wage for their specific location and job zone, which is determined at the county level and differs between Clark County (Las Vegas) and Washoe County (Reno). Nevada has no state income tax, which factors into total compensation discussions with employers. The University of Nevada, Las Vegas and University of Nevada, Reno produce engineering graduates that some local employers prefer to hire domestically first, so international candidates benefit most from applying to companies with established global hiring programs.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored development manager jobs in Nevada?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
