Which companies in Louisiana sponsor visas for development managers?
Energy and utilities firms are among the most active sponsors in Louisiana. Entergy, Shell's Gulf Coast operations, and CGI Federal have documented histories of H-1B visa sponsorship for management-level technology and development roles. Ochsner Health and Tulane University's affiliated operations also appear in federal LCA disclosure data for development manager positions. Sponsorship activity is most concentrated in New Orleans and Baton Rouge.
What visa types are most commonly used for development manager roles in Louisiana?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for development managers in Louisiana, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a relevant bachelor's degree or higher. Candidates with significant leadership experience may also qualify for the L-1A intracompany transferee visa if they're moving within a multinational organization. Some senior candidates explore the O-1A for extraordinary ability, though that requires substantial documented achievements.
Which cities in Louisiana have the most development manager visa sponsorship jobs?
New Orleans leads Louisiana for development manager sponsorship opportunities, driven by its technology sector, healthcare systems, and professional services firms. Baton Rouge follows, with activity concentrated around energy companies, state government contractors, and Louisiana State University-affiliated employers. Shreveport sees smaller but consistent demand from healthcare and manufacturing sectors. Remote-friendly positions based in Louisiana are also increasing, particularly in technology-adjacent roles.
How to find development manager visa sponsorship jobs in Louisiana?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to identify development manager openings in Louisiana without sorting through roles that don't offer sponsorship. You can filter by state and job function to surface positions from Louisiana employers actively seeking international candidates. Migrate Mate's board focuses on verified sponsorship roles, which saves significant time compared to general job searching.
Are there any Louisiana-specific considerations for development managers seeking visa sponsorship?
Louisiana's energy sector is a meaningful factor. Many development manager roles tied to oil and gas or utilities require familiarity with project delivery in regulated environments, which employers often reflect in their LCA prevailing wage filings. Louisiana also has active university pipelines through LSU and Tulane that feed technology and management talent into local employers. Candidates with energy sector experience or relevant certifications tend to be more competitive for sponsored roles in this state.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored development manager jobs in Louisiana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
