Which companies sponsor visas for home health nurses in Texas?
Large home health agencies with significant Texas operations are the most active sponsors, including Amedisys, LHC Group, Encompass Health, and Kindred at Home. Hospital systems such as HCA Houston Healthcare and Texas Health Resources also sponsor nurses for home health divisions. Smaller regional agencies occasionally sponsor as well, though large national providers file the most H-1B visa and EB-3 petitions for nursing roles in the state.
Which visa types are most common for home health nurse roles in Texas?
Most home health nurses in Texas are sponsored through the EB-3 immigrant visa category, which is well-suited to registered nursing roles that meet the professional or skilled worker classification. The H-1B visa is less commonly used for nursing because home health RN positions don't always meet specialty occupation criteria. Many internationally trained nurses also arrive through retrogression-aware pathways, so timeline planning with an immigration attorney is important.
Which cities in Texas have the most home health nurse sponsorship jobs?
Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth have the highest concentration of home health nurse sponsorship positions in Texas, driven by large and aging metropolitan populations. San Antonio and Austin are also active markets, with consistent demand from both national agencies and regional providers. Smaller cities like El Paso and Lubbock have home health demand as well, particularly through federally qualified health centers and regional hospital systems.
How to find home health nurse visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to search for home health nurse roles in Texas without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. You can browse by location and role to surface relevant openings from national agencies and regional providers actively hiring sponsored nurses. This saves significant time compared to manually screening general job listings.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for home health nurses seeking visa sponsorship?
Texas follows federal prevailing wage requirements for sponsored nursing roles, and the Texas Board of Nursing requires internationally educated RNs to have their credentials evaluated before licensure. The state's high demand for home health nurses, particularly in underserved rural areas, means some employers participate in programs that support placement in Health Professional Shortage Areas. Nurses should verify licensure requirements early, as the credential evaluation process can take several months.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored home health nurse jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
