Which companies sponsor visas for home health nurses in Indiana?
Several Indiana-based health systems and home health agencies have a track record of sponsoring international nurses. Ascension St. Vincent Home Health, Indiana University Health Home Care, and Elara Caring operate across the state and have filed for nursing roles through H-1B and PERM-based green card processes. Staffing agencies with multistate operations also place home health nurses in Indiana and often handle the sponsorship process directly.
Which visa types are most common for home health nurse roles in Indiana?
Home health nurses in Indiana most commonly come through the H-1B visa or the EB-3 immigrant visa via PERM labor certification. The H-1B requires a qualifying nursing degree and employer sponsorship, while EB-3 is an employment-based green card pathway popular with employers facing long-term staffing shortages. Some nurses also enter through the TN visa if they hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship and meet the qualifying criteria.
Which cities in Indiana have the most home health nurse sponsorship jobs?
Indianapolis accounts for the largest share of home health nurse openings in Indiana, given its concentration of hospital systems and home health agencies. Fort Wayne and South Bend also have active hiring, driven by aging populations and regional medical centers. Evansville and Bloomington are secondary markets where staffing gaps have prompted employers to consider international candidates for hard-to-fill positions.
How to find home health nurse visa sponsorship jobs in Indiana?
Migrate Mate is a job board built specifically for international nurses and other professionals seeking visa sponsorship in the U.S. You can filter directly for home health nurse roles in Indiana to see employers currently sponsoring. This saves significant time compared to sifting through general job postings that rarely disclose sponsorship status upfront. Migrate Mate focuses exclusively on positions where employers are open to international candidates.
Are there any Indiana-specific factors home health nurses should know before pursuing sponsorship?
Indiana follows federal prevailing wage requirements under the H-1B and PERM programs, so employers must offer wages that meet the Department of Labor's wage levels for the specific home health nurse role and county. Indiana's rural communities, including areas in northern and southern Indiana, face acute nursing shortages, which can make employers in those regions more motivated to sponsor. Active RN licensure with the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency is required before starting work.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored home health nurse jobs in Indiana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
