Which companies sponsor visas for home health nurses in Ohio?
Large health systems with home care divisions, including OhioHealth, Cleveland Clinic Home Care, and ProMedica, have sponsored nurses for U.S. work visas. National home health agencies such as Amedisys and LHC Group also maintain Ohio operations and have documented sponsorship histories. Sponsorship availability varies by facility, role, and workforce need at any given time, so confirming directly with each employer is essential.
Which visa types are most common for home health nurse roles in Ohio?
The H-1B and EB-3 pathways are most commonly used for registered nurses in Ohio. H-1B requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation, which is supportable for RNs with a BSN. The EB-3 immigrant visa, often paired with PERM labor certification, is a common permanent residency route for nurses. Internationally educated nurses must also pass NCLEX-RN and obtain Ohio Board of Nursing licensure before sponsorship can proceed.
Which cities in Ohio have the most home health nurse sponsorship jobs?
Columbus, Cleveland, and Cincinnati account for the majority of home health nurse sponsorship opportunities in Ohio. Columbus benefits from OhioHealth and Nationwide Children's Hospital system affiliates. Cleveland's health sector, anchored by Cleveland Clinic and University Hospitals, generates consistent home care hiring. Cincinnati sees demand through TriHealth and Mercy Health networks. Smaller metros like Dayton and Toledo also have active home health markets tied to regional hospital systems.
How to find home health nurse visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate aggregates home health nurse visa sponsorship jobs filtered specifically to Ohio, making it straightforward to browse verified sponsoring employers without sifting through listings that don't support international candidates. You can filter by role type and location to focus on Ohio-based home care positions. Because sponsorship availability changes frequently, checking Migrate Mate regularly gives you the most current picture of which Ohio employers are actively hiring sponsored nurses.
Are there any Ohio-specific considerations for home health nurses seeking visa sponsorship?
Ohio requires internationally educated nurses to have their credentials evaluated and obtain a state nursing license through the Ohio Board of Nursing before working as an RN. Ohio is not part of the Nurse Licensure Compact, so a license from another state does not automatically transfer. Prevailing wage determinations for home health nursing roles are set by the Department of Labor based on the specific Ohio metro area, which affects employer sponsorship costs and timelines.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored home health nurse jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
