Which companies sponsor visas for home health nurses in South Carolina?
Amedisys, LHC Group, Bayada Home Health Care, and Maxim Healthcare Services are among the larger home health employers in South Carolina with documented histories of sponsoring international nurses. Regional hospital systems like Prisma Health and MUSC Health also operate home health divisions that have supported visa sponsorship for registered nurses, though sponsorship availability varies by location and staffing need.
Which visa types are most common for home health nurse roles in South Carolina?
The H-1B and EB-3 (employment-based third preference) are the most common pathways for home health nurses in South Carolina. H-1B applies when the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in nursing. EB-3 is a popular immigrant visa route for registered nurses, often paired with PERM labor certification. Some employers also utilize the TN visa for Canadian and Mexican nurses meeting NAFTA-successor criteria.
How to find home health nurse visa sponsorship jobs in South Carolina?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find home health nurse visa sponsorship jobs in South Carolina, with listings filtered specifically by role and state so you can focus on employers already open to sponsoring international candidates. Standard job boards mix sponsored and non-sponsored roles without distinction, making the search much slower. Filtering by South Carolina on Migrate Mate surfaces relevant Columbia, Greenville, and Charleston-area opportunities.
Which cities in South Carolina have the most home health nurse sponsorship jobs?
Columbia, as the state capital and home to a large Medicare-eligible population, consistently sees the highest concentration of home health nurse openings. Greenville and its surrounding Upstate region have grown significantly due to population influx and expanding healthcare infrastructure. Charleston also posts regular home health nurse vacancies, supported by the presence of MUSC Health and a network of regional home health agencies serving coastal and rural communities.
Are there any state-specific considerations for home health nurses seeking sponsorship in South Carolina?
South Carolina requires registered nurses to hold an active RN license from the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a valid Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) license from a compact member state. International nurses typically need to pass NCLEX-RN and obtain a credentials evaluation before licensure. The state's rural healthcare shortage areas, designated by HRSA, tend to attract employers more motivated to sponsor international candidates to fill persistent staffing gaps in home health settings.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored home health nurse jobs in South Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
