Which companies sponsor visas for HVAC technicians in Texas?
TDIndustries, Comfort Systems USA, and Johnson Controls are among the Texas-based employers with documented histories of sponsoring skilled trade workers. Large mechanical contractors and facilities management companies operating across Houston, Dallas, and Austin tend to have the HR infrastructure to support visa sponsorship, whereas smaller independent contractors typically do not have the resources to navigate the sponsorship process.
Which visa types are most common for HVAC technician roles in Texas?
The H-2B visa is the most frequently used category for HVAC technicians, covering temporary non-agricultural workers in skilled trades. Some technicians with advanced credentials or supervisory responsibilities may qualify under the H-1B if the role can be classified as a specialty occupation, though this is uncommon for field technician positions. EB-3 immigrant visa sponsorship is another pathway some Texas employers pursue for longer-term hires.
Which cities in Texas have the most HVAC technician sponsorship jobs?
Houston leads due to its massive commercial and industrial construction activity, including petrochemical facilities that require extensive HVAC and mechanical systems. Dallas-Fort Worth follows closely, with strong demand from commercial real estate, data centers, and healthcare campuses. San Antonio and Austin also have active markets, particularly tied to military base facilities, semiconductor manufacturing, and rapid residential and commercial growth.
How to find hvac technician visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is a job board built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship in the U.S. You can filter directly for HVAC technician roles in Texas to see employers who have indicated willingness to sponsor. Because sponsorship availability isn't always advertised in standard job postings, using a platform like Migrate Mate that focuses on sponsorship-confirmed listings saves significant time in your search.
Are there state-specific considerations for HVAC technicians seeking sponsorship in Texas?
Texas requires HVAC technicians to hold a state license issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, which involves passing an exam and meeting experience requirements. Employers sponsoring foreign workers under H-2B or H-1B must pay the Department of Labor prevailing wage for the specific occupation and county. Technicians should confirm their qualifications are recognized under Texas licensing rules before an employer initiates the sponsorship process.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored hvac technician jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
