Which companies sponsor visas for strategy directors in Texas?
Large multinationals with established immigration programs are the most consistent sponsors for strategy director roles in Texas. ExxonMobil, ConocoPhillips, and Chevron Phillips sponsor senior strategy talent in Houston. In Dallas-Fort Worth, AT&T, American Airlines, and Deloitte have sponsored strategy-level positions. Austin-based Dell Technologies and Oracle also have active sponsorship programs for director-tier roles.
Which visa types are most common for strategy director roles in Texas?
The H-1B is the most common visa for strategy directors in Texas, given that the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specialized field such as business, economics, or finance. Candidates with prior U.S. employment may qualify for L-1A intracompany transferee status if moving from a foreign affiliate. Senior professionals with recognized industry achievement may also explore the O-1A category.
Which cities in Texas have the most strategy director sponsorship jobs?
Houston leads in sponsorship volume for strategy directors, driven by its energy, petrochemical, and healthcare industries. Dallas-Fort Worth is close behind, anchored by financial services, consulting, and corporate headquarters. Austin has grown significantly as a hub for technology and venture-backed companies seeking senior strategy talent. San Antonio sees more limited activity, primarily through healthcare systems and defense contractors.
How to find strategy director visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse strategy director openings in Texas without sorting through roles that won't support international candidates. You can filter by state and role type to surface positions at Texas employers that have sponsored similar titles before, saving significant time compared to manually researching each company's sponsorship history.
Are there any state-specific considerations for strategy director sponsorship in Texas?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage calculations used in H-1B Labor Condition Applications since DOL computes prevailing wages based on local metropolitan area data rather than state tax treatment. Houston, Dallas, and Austin each fall under different wage determination zones, so the certified wage on an LCA will reflect the specific metro, not a single statewide figure. Industry also matters: energy-sector strategy roles in Houston are benchmarked differently than tech-sector equivalents in Austin.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored strategy director jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
