Which companies in Kansas sponsor visas for strategy directors?
Garmin, headquartered in Olathe, has a consistent record of H-1B sponsorship for senior strategy and business development roles. Spirit AeroSystems in Wichita sponsors for strategic planning positions tied to aerospace operations. Large healthcare systems such as The University of Kansas Health System and financial services firms in the Kansas City metro area also appear in Department of Labor LCA filings for strategy-level positions.
Which visa types are most common for strategy director roles in Kansas?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for strategy director roles in Kansas, as these positions typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in business, management, or a related field, satisfying the specialty occupation standard. Candidates with an extraordinary record of strategic leadership may qualify for the O-1A. Canadians and Mexicans may also be eligible for the TN visa under the management consultant category, depending on the specific role definition.
How to find strategy director visa sponsorship jobs in Kansas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship willingness, making it easier to identify strategy director roles in Kansas where employers are open to sponsoring international candidates. Rather than sorting through thousands of unfiltered postings, you can search directly for strategy director positions in the Kansas City metro, Wichita, or Topeka and see which employers have a history of sponsorship for this role type.
Which cities in Kansas have the most strategy director sponsorship jobs?
The Kansas City metro area, particularly Olathe and Overland Park on the Kansas side, accounts for the largest share of strategy director sponsorship activity, driven by technology, logistics, and professional services employers. Wichita is the second most active market, concentrated in aerospace and manufacturing strategy roles. Topeka sees periodic openings tied to state agencies and healthcare organizations, though volume is lower than the KC metro.
Are there any state-specific considerations for strategy directors seeking visa sponsorship in Kansas?
Kansas does not impose state-level immigration requirements beyond federal obligations, but employers must comply with Department of Labor prevailing wage rules when filing a Labor Condition Application for H-1B sponsorship. Strategy director roles in Kansas are often benchmarked against the Kansas City metropolitan area wage data rather than national figures, which can affect how employers structure compensation for sponsored positions. Proximity to Big 12 universities like the University of Kansas also means some employers recruit internationally through graduate pipelines in MBA and strategy programs.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored strategy director jobs in Kansas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
