Which companies in Oregon sponsor visas for strategy directors?
Nike, Adidas, and Intel are among Oregon's most active sponsors for senior strategy roles, given their scale and global talent pipelines. Oregon Health & Science University and legacy technology firms in the Portland metro area also have established sponsorship programs. Sponsorship at the strategy director level typically requires the employer to demonstrate the role meets specialty occupation criteria, which most senior corporate strategy positions satisfy.
Which visa types are most common for strategy directors in Oregon?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa category for strategy directors in Oregon, as the role typically requires at minimum a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business, economics, or management. Candidates with exceptional records in strategy consulting or corporate leadership may qualify for the O-1A. Senior professionals transferring within a multinational organization may be eligible for the L-1A intracompany transferee visa instead.
Which cities in Oregon have the most strategy director sponsorship jobs?
Portland accounts for the majority of strategy director sponsorship activity in Oregon, driven by the concentration of large corporate headquarters and regional offices in the metro area. Beaverton, home to Nike's global campus, is a notable secondary hub for senior strategy talent. Eugene and Bend see occasional openings in health, education, and emerging technology sectors, though sponsorship frequency there is lower than in the Portland metro.
How to find strategy director visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship eligibility, making it practical to search for strategy director roles in Oregon without sorting through employers who don't sponsor. Because strategy director openings are relatively senior and less frequent than entry-level postings, setting up alerts on Migrate Mate for Oregon-based strategy roles helps ensure you don't miss new listings as they appear.
What should internationally qualified strategy directors know about Oregon's hiring market?
Oregon's strategy director market skews heavily toward candidates with sector-specific expertise, particularly in consumer goods, semiconductors, and health technology. Employers sponsoring at the director level typically expect a clear connection between the candidate's academic background and the strategic function of the role, which matters for H-1B specialty occupation determinations. Oregon does not impose state-level restrictions on visa sponsorship, so federal requirements govern the process entirely.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored strategy director jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
