Search Strategy Director Jobs in KentuckyStrategy Director Jobs in Kentucky: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies sponsor visas for strategy directors in Kentucky?
Louisville-based employers are the most active sponsors for senior strategy roles in Kentucky. Humana, one of the largest health insurers in the country, regularly hires strategy directors and has a documented H-1B visa sponsorship history. Kindred Healthcare, Tempur Sealy, and Lexmark International have also filed H-1B petitions for senior strategic and business planning roles. The University of Kentucky and University of Louisville sponsor for strategy-adjacent positions in institutional planning and research administration.
Which visa types are most common for strategy director roles in Kentucky?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for strategy director roles in Kentucky, as these positions typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in business, management, or a related field and meet specialty occupation standards. Candidates with multinational company experience may also qualify for the L-1A intracompany transferee visa if they are transferring from a foreign affiliate. The O-1A is an option for individuals with demonstrated extraordinary achievement in strategic leadership, though it requires extensive evidence.
Which cities in Kentucky have the most strategy director sponsorship jobs?
Louisville accounts for the majority of strategy director sponsorship opportunities in Kentucky. Its concentration of Fortune 500 and large regional employers in healthcare, insurance, and logistics makes it the dominant hiring market in the state. Lexington is a secondary hub, driven by the University of Kentucky, Toyota's regional operations, and growing professional services firms. Other Kentucky cities have limited activity for this seniority level, so targeting Louisville specifically is the practical approach for most candidates.
How to find strategy director visa sponsorship jobs in Kentucky?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship status, so you can search strategy director roles in Kentucky without manually screening out employers who do not sponsor. Because strategy director is a senior-level position, the number of open roles at any given time is smaller than for mid-level functions, so setting up alerts and checking regularly matters. Migrate Mate's Kentucky listings reflect employers with active sponsorship histories, which helps narrow the search to realistic opportunities.
Are there state-specific considerations for strategy director visa sponsorship in Kentucky?
Kentucky does not impose state-level visa or work authorization requirements beyond federal standards, but the state's industry mix shapes what sponsorship looks like in practice. Healthcare employers like Humana are experienced sponsors with established immigration programs, which generally means faster internal processes. Manufacturing and logistics firms, while active in Kentucky, may have less experience with senior-level visa sponsorship and more variable timelines. Kentucky's growing healthcare technology sector in Louisville is worth monitoring as an emerging source of demand for strategy leadership.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored strategy director jobs in Kentucky?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
