Which companies in Ohio sponsor visas for strategy directors?
Several large Ohio-headquartered employers have sponsored strategy director roles in the past, including Nationwide and Progressive Insurance in Columbus, KeyBank and Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, and Procter & Gamble and Fifth Third Bank in Cincinnati. Large consulting firms and healthcare networks operating across the state also file H-1B petitions for senior strategy hires. Sponsorship activity varies by year and business need, so checking recent LCA filings is the most reliable way to verify an employer's history.
Which visa types are most common for strategy director roles in Ohio?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for strategy directors in Ohio, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in business, economics, finance, or a related field, qualifying it as a specialty occupation. Senior candidates with multinational experience may also be eligible for the L-1A intracompany transferee visa if their employer has a foreign affiliate. Candidates with extraordinary achievement may explore the O-1A, though that requires substantial documented recognition in the field.
Which cities in Ohio have the most strategy director sponsorship jobs?
Columbus leads Ohio for strategy director sponsorship activity, driven by its concentration of insurance, financial services, and technology employers. Cleveland is a strong second, with major healthcare systems like Cleveland Clinic and university-affiliated medical centers that hire strategy leadership. Cincinnati rounds out the top three, particularly for consumer goods, banking, and logistics roles. Smaller markets like Dayton and Akron see occasional sponsorship but at significantly lower volumes than the three major metros.
How to find strategy director visa sponsorship jobs in Ohio?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship roles in the U.S., including strategy director positions in Ohio. You can filter by state and role to see active listings from employers with sponsorship histories. Because strategy director is a senior role with a smaller hiring pool than entry-level positions, setting up alerts on Migrate Mate and monitoring new postings regularly gives you the best chance of catching relevant openings as they appear.
Are there state-specific or role-specific considerations for strategy director sponsorship in Ohio?
Ohio does not impose additional state-level requirements on top of federal H-1B rules, but employers must still file a Labor Condition Application certifying they will pay the prevailing wage for the role and location. For strategy directors, USCIS scrutinizes whether the position genuinely requires a specialized degree, not just general business experience. Ohio's strong university system, including Ohio State and Case Western Reserve, creates a pipeline of candidates, which means sponsored roles typically go to candidates with either specialized industry expertise or prior employer relationships.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored strategy director jobs in Ohio?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
