Which companies sponsor visas for technical managers in Texas?
Large technology and energy companies are among the most active sponsors for technical manager roles in Texas. Dell Technologies and NXP Semiconductors hire internationally in Austin, while AT&T and Texas Instruments do the same in Dallas. Houston's energy sector, including companies like Schlumberger and Baker Hughes, also sponsors technical managers with specialized engineering or operations leadership backgrounds. Consulting firms with major Texas offices, such as Accenture and Deloitte, are active sponsors as well.
Which visa types are most common for technical manager roles in Texas?
The H-1B is the most common visa for technical managers in Texas, as the role typically meets the specialty occupation requirement given its combination of technical expertise and degree-level qualifications. Multinational companies with Texas offices, including many in the energy and semiconductor sectors, also use the L-1A for managers transferring from overseas affiliates. Senior technical managers with exceptional records may qualify for the O-1A or pursue an EB-1C green card through their employer.
Which cities in Texas have the most technical manager sponsorship jobs?
Austin leads the state for technical manager sponsorship activity, driven by its concentration of technology companies and semiconductor manufacturers. Dallas-Fort Worth is a close second, anchored by major employers in telecom, financial technology, and enterprise software. Houston sees strong demand from the energy and petrochemical industries, where technical managers oversee large engineering operations. San Antonio has a growing cybersecurity sector, partly tied to military and defense contractors, that also generates sponsorship opportunities.
How to find technical manager visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is a job board built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship in the United States. You can filter directly for technical manager roles in Texas to see employers actively open to sponsoring work visas. This is more efficient than searching general job boards, where sponsorship availability is rarely stated upfront. Migrate Mate also provides immigration context alongside listings, which helps you assess each opportunity relative to your visa situation.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for technical managers pursuing visa sponsorship?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects the prevailing wage comparisons employers use when filing Labor Condition Applications for H-1B petitions. The DOL sets prevailing wages by metropolitan area, so technical manager roles in Austin, Dallas, and Houston each carry different wage floors. Texas also has strong university pipelines through UT Austin, Texas A&M, and Rice University, which means employers are generally experienced with international talent and the sponsorship process.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored technical manager jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
