Which companies in Texas sponsor visas for technical solutions engineers?
Dell Technologies in Round Rock, NXP Semiconductors in Austin, AT&T in Dallas, and HP Inc. in Houston are among the Texas employers with documented H-1B visa sponsorship histories for technical solutions engineers. Salesforce, Oracle, and IBM also maintain significant Texas operations and have sponsored roles in pre-sales and technical consulting. Enterprise software and semiconductor firms tend to be the most active sponsors in this role category.
Which visa types are most common for technical solutions engineer roles in Texas?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for technical solutions engineers in Texas, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related field. Candidates already holding L-1B visas through intracompany transfers also fill these roles. TN visas are an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals whose credentials align with qualifying USMCA occupations.
Which Texas cities have the most technical solutions engineer sponsorship jobs?
Austin leads in volume, driven by its concentration of technology companies and semiconductor firms. Dallas-Fort Worth is a close second, with strong demand from enterprise software, fintech, and telecommunications employers. Houston contributes sponsorship opportunities primarily through energy-technology and industrial automation companies. San Antonio has a smaller but growing presence, particularly tied to cybersecurity and cloud infrastructure firms with federal contracts.
How to find technical solutions engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, letting you search technical solutions engineer roles across Texas cities without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. You can narrow results by location, filtering for Austin, Dallas, Houston, or San Antonio depending on where you want to work. This is more targeted than general job searches and saves significant time when sponsorship is a hard requirement.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for technical solutions engineers seeking visa sponsorship?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects how employers structure compensation and prevailing wage calculations under the H-1B Labor Condition Application. The state's large public university system, including UT Austin and Texas A&M, creates a strong local pipeline, meaning sponsored candidates often compete alongside a deep pool of domestic graduates. Employers in the semiconductor and energy-tech sectors tend to have more established immigration infrastructure than early-stage startups, which may have limited sponsorship experience.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored technical solutions engineer jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
