Which companies sponsor visas for technical solutions engineers in Minnesota?
Minneapolis-based employers with documented sponsorship histories for technical roles include Optum, Medtronic, Cargill, and Palo Alto Networks. Larger enterprise software and cybersecurity vendors with Minnesota offices also sponsor solutions engineers regularly. Sponsorship activity is most consistent at large enterprises and growth-stage technology companies with established immigration programs rather than smaller regional firms.
Which visa types are most common for technical solutions engineer roles in Minnesota?
The H-1B is the most common visa for technical solutions engineers in Minnesota, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related field. Australian citizens may also pursue the E-3. Candidates already on OPT or STEM OPT extension can begin working before H-1B sponsorship is filed.
Which cities in Minnesota have the most technical solutions engineer sponsorship jobs?
The Twin Cities metro, specifically Minneapolis and Saint Paul, account for the large majority of technical solutions engineer sponsorship openings in Minnesota. Bloomington and Eden Prairie also have notable concentrations due to corporate campuses for healthcare technology and financial services firms. Rochester sees some demand tied to the Mayo Clinic ecosystem and its associated technology vendors.
How to find technical solutions engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Minnesota?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for visa sponsorship eligibility, making it straightforward to browse technical solutions engineer openings in Minnesota without manually screening each employer. You can search by role and state to surface companies actively hiring for this position with sponsorship. This saves significant time compared to reviewing postings that do not specify immigration support.
Are there any Minnesota-specific considerations for technical solutions engineers seeking visa sponsorship?
Minnesota's concentration in healthcare IT, medical devices, and financial technology shapes what employers look for in solutions engineers, with experience in regulated-industry integrations or compliance-adjacent platforms often valued. The University of Minnesota and several Twin Cities colleges produce a steady pipeline of technical talent, which means sponsoring employers tend to be selective and favor candidates with demonstrable pre-sales or implementation track records.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored technical solutions engineer jobs in Minnesota?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
